8th International Adventure Programme – India

Warm greetings from Manila!

We are pleased to inform you that the Bharat Scouts and Guides (India) is organizing the 8th International Adventure Programme at their National Adventure Institute (NAI) on 16~25 February 2005. This Institute is situated at the National Training Centre of Bharat Scouts & Guides at Pachmarhi, M.P. India, a place known as "Trekkers Paradise" and touches the heart of adventurers with one feel closer to the Creator and to India's past.

The NAI was established in the year 1992 and is committed to the promotion of adventure amongst the youth. Since then, adventure activities and programmes are being successfully conducted under the guidance of five (5) trained staff members. The NAI uses adventure-based activities for character development, team building and self-discovery sessions.

Below are the basic information of the Programme:

Date : From 16th February, 2006 to 25th February, 2006

Venue : The National Adventure Institute of Bharat Scouts & Guides, Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh, India – 461 881 (M.P.)

How to reach : There is a direct flight from Delhi / Mumbai to Bhopal. Transportation will be arranged from the airport of Bhopal to Pachmarhi. There are also direct trains from Howrah, Mumbai, and Chennai to Pipariya which is the nearest Railway Station to Pachmarhi. If you are coming from Delhi to Bhopal, trains are frequently available to reach Itarsi Railway Station, from there you may change trains to reach Pipariya. Pachmarhi is 50 K.M. away from Pipariya. Pipariya Railway Station is on the way to Jabalpur from Itarsi Junction. Transportation will be arranged from Pipariya to Pachmarhi by the Institute, on request.

Programme Fee : Total US$60.00 per head which covers hospitality, food, accommodation, insurance, activity cost, souvenirs and inland transportation to and from Bhopal / Pipariya and Pachmarhi. The fee also includes registration and development fee.

Eligibility : Senior Scouts / Girl Scouts, Rovers / Rangers and Adult Leaders between age 18-45 years, having good health and can bear the strain of adventure, may apply. The programme is expected to have 50 overseas participants and 100 from India. All participants should be duly endorsed by their National Scout Organization.

Programme Highlights : Trekking, Rock Climbing, Mountaineering, Obstacles crossing, Night Scouting, Nature Ramble, Star Gazing, Horse Riding, Skating, Swimming, Boating, Back-Woods-man Cooking Parasailing, Jungle Camping, Cultural Programmes etc. and many more.
