The strike ended ten days later on August 2, after the intervention of the federal mediators. After reaching the three year deal, IBU President and chief negotiator Marina Secchitano said “this new agreement ad- dresses many of our members’ concerns.” The IBU membership overwhelmingly ratified the agree- ment shortly thereafter and went back to work. Despite the many improvements benefiting both sides, the IBU withstood threats characterizing the action as an illegal activity.
