Hello!

My name’s Mr Mole. I come from the Mole Republic.

I would like to tell you about how

I visited the Czech Republic!

4

Let me introduce myself!

Hello!

My name's Mr Mole. I am twenty years old. I come from the Mole Republic. My hobbies are underground football, riding a mole bike and playing games on my molebook.

My family is very big. My mum is Lucka Lopata and my dad is Arnošt Lopata. I have got three brothers - their names are Franta, Joska and Ondra. I have got a sister Verča. She is seventeen.

How I got to the Czech Republic

In this book I will tell you about my unforgettable experience. One day I went for a walk. Suddenly, I was in a very strange place. There were big and noisy things that could fly. I was worried but curious too. I could see some stairs. I went upstairs. I could see a lot of people that were sitting. Oh, what a terrible noise! Why are we moving!?

Later, I found out that I was at the airport and I got on a plane. The plane was flying to a place called the Czech Republic.

6

I am in the Czech Republic!

Suddenly, the plane landed. I was at an airport in the Czech Republic. The airport is called Václav Havel Airport.

Oh, what’s this? I can see a book on the floor. It’s a guidebook about the Czech Republic.

Now I know that the capital city is Prague and the president is Miloš Zeman. In Prague there are world famous sights such as the Charles Bridge, the Prague Castle or St. Vitus Cathedral. And there are a lot of other interesting places in this country.

I learned that the Czech Republic is famous for sports, singers, beer and Škoda cars. More than 10 000 000 people live in the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic borders , , and .

In the guidebook I found some Czech phrases.

Hello. – Ahoj.

Good morning. – Dobré ráno.

Good night. – Dobrou noc.

How are you? - Jak se máš?

How I met Miss Mole!

I really like the Czech Republic, but I feel lonely. I would like to find a girlfriend. So I went to a party. And there I met her. Her name is Miss Mole, but I call her Panilude. She is from the Czech Republic and she is 18 years old. Her hobbies are dancing and cooking. We meet on the Charles Bridge every night. We often go for a walk and we like watching films in the cinema.

Thanks to her I learned some Czech phrases.

I love you. - Miluju tě.

I like you. - Mám tě rád.

I miss you. - Chybíš mi.

I need you. - Potřebuju tě.

We are happy and we hope we will live happily ever after.

How I met AC Sparta Prague football players

One day I went for an underground walk. But after a while, it was a little bit boring. So I made a hole to see what was going on among people. There was really nice grass everywhere. And a lot of people. And a lot of noise. But who were those people running with these round things?

I found out that I was at the stadium of AC Sparta Prague. Sparta is the best football club in the Czech Republic. The best players are D. Lafata, L. Krejčí, V. Kadlec, B. Dočkal, M. Holek and C. Nhamoinesu.

After the match I met the players and I became their mascot! Football is great!

Let’s go Sparta, let’s go!

Do you know ?

One day I heard about biathlon. People told me that it is a winter sport. And in February 2015 there was the Biathlon in Nové Město na Moravě. So I went there.

There were a lot of fans and great atmosphere. This sport is very interesting. It co mbines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. Czech biathletes are very successful. There are several Olympic Medal winners such as Soukalová, Vítková, Moravec, Soukup or Šlesingr.

I enjoyed the races and met Soukalová and Moravec. I have a group photo with the team too.

On the fourth day we went snowboarding. And guess what! We met an Olympic medal winner Eva Samková who is very good at snowboarding. She became our friend and I and my friends from the school visit and support her.

At the end of the course we met another famous sportswoman. Her name is Martina Sáblíková and she has won a lot of medals in Olympic Games and World Championships in speed skating. She is so friendly!

14

I reached the highest mountain in the Czech Republic!

The mountains in this country are wonderful. But I haven’t been to the highest peak called Sněžka. So I decided to go there. Sněžka Mountain is located in the Krkonoše Mountains. Sněžka, 1,603 meters above sea level, is a popular place for tourists from many countries. I was walking to the top of Sněžka, but my legs were hurting. I relaxed for a while and then I could enjoy the last steps. And I was there! I could see a very beautiful landscape and a large part of the Czech Republic and Poland. I liked this trip and I can recommend it to all tourists.
