The clearance rate held up respectably for an elite sale at 73%Cor 124 sold from 158 yearlings offered. The average was down 14% at 223,790gns and the median fell by 33% to 120,000gns. $ Anthony Stroud signed for eight lots on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed for a total of 7.22 million gns, including three of the four seven-figure lots of the session. $ Attraction (GB)=s five yearlings to have been offered at the Tattersalls October Sale to date have sold for a total of 4,685,000gns. $ Frankel (GB) had nine yearlings sell through the first session for an average of 590,000gns. $ Mike Ryan purchased five yearlings (four fillies & one colt) totaling 970,000gns. I must admit, earlier in the year I was hoping that Danny Tudhope would be able to pull it off as the work that Danny has to put in to maintain his weight is phenomenal, and nobody sees that behind the scenes, but it wasn't to be.
