Notes: - the Apple TV remote goes into powerdown automatically if not used for a while. Swiping the touch surface afterwards does not wake up the remote. You need to press one of the buttons first.

- The Apple TV remote uses Bluetooth to communicate with Apple TV. This makes its use different compared to regular IR (infrared) remotes:

o You don’t need a ‘line-of-sight’ to control an Apple TV so your Apple TV can be mounted behind the monitor, or in a shelf, out-of-sight. This is a big advantage.

o Your remote connects from further away. Be aware that your remote may still be connected even when it is in another room and touching the touch surface or buttons can affect your signage playout.

o You need to pair a remote with an AppleTV. Once paired, you can only use that remote with the AppleTV it is paired with. So if you have multiple AppleTV’s make sure to use the correct remote for each box. You can pair a new remote by backing out of the SophatarKiosk app into the Apple TV Home screen, and then going to Settings…Remotes and Devices…Learn Remote. If you have lost your AppleTV remote, and thus cannot back out of the SophatarKiosk app, you can disconnect/re-connect the AC power cable (which will restart the box into the Home screen). It is not possible to pair a new remote while playing your digital signage since otherwise obviously a customer could walk into your location with an Apple TV remote and affect your signage playout.
