The project is part of a 10-year plan that involves sinking boreholes to ensure water supply to the 70,000 people living in Mapela. Anglo American Platinum is partnering with Hall Core Water, the Mapela Traditional Authority, the Mogalakwena Municipality and the Mapela Task Team to roll out the project to improve the lives of the people living in Mapela. The first phase of the project, which started 18 months ago, has seen a borehole, a pump house and a network of pipelines connected to taps laid out in Skimming.
