Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing Ready to Take On with Three Car Assault

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (August 19, 2010) – Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing and its three drivers are ready to take on the challenges of Road America for Rounds 9 and 10 of Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered by in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, August 20-22.

Patrick McKenna, of Ireland, will pilot the No. 2 machine, while Javier Barrales and Martin Scuncio, both from Chile, will drive the No. 18 and No. 99 cars respectively.

McKenna is currently second in the point standings after finishing on the podium in both races at Autobhan Country Club earlier this month. He trails by only 22 points, and with four races left, he is looking for strong finishes in both races this weekend to close the gap and make a run for the championship.

Scuncio is fifth in the point standings, while Barrales is seventh. Though new to the Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing team, both showed that they are strong competitors at Autobahn Country Club. Scuncio earned the $200 Tilton Hard Charger award in Race 2, and Barrales had two top-8 finishes.

While team owners Dominic and Nicholas Cape will be in Sonoma, California for the Firestone Indy Lights race, veteran motorsports engineer, team manager and driver Rossella Manfrinato will serve as one of the engineers for the three-car effort this weekend at Road America.

Hailing originally from Milan and now residing in the Atlanta area, Manfrinato has engineering experience in FF2000, IndyCar, Firestone Indy Lights, Star Mazda, ALMS, GRAND-AM, F- Renault, SCCA and USRRC. She is the 2008 and 2007 2000 South East Division National Champion.

The Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing cars will first by for practice at 10:40 a.m. and 4:50 p.m. on Friday, August 20. Qualifying for Race 1 will be Saturday, August 21st at 8 a.m., while the race will start at 12:10 p.m. Race 2 is scheduled for Sunday, August 22nd at 8:45 a.m. All times are CT.
