APRIL 4, 2021 HOPE DARST

Over the past 15 years, Hope Darst, has been leading worship, growing her family, and serving the local church. She wears many titles…wife, mother, worship leader and . In 2013, after a decade of being in full-time ministry and on staff at her local church, Hope found herself in a season of transition as she focused on being a full-time mom. During this time, Hope and her family visited a small gathering of people in a basement and encountered the presence of God in a new way. “I had been “doing ministry” for so long that I had ignored so many parts of my heart and life that needed ministry. I was desperate for healing and a fresh encounter with God. That year of rest became the foundation for discovering a new way of living with Christ. Week after week I would enter God’s presence during worship and the word and experience deep emotional and mental healing that I had long thought was impossible.” This “gathering” would eventually become what is now The Belonging Co. church.

After a few years, Hope found herself leading worship again and being part of the songwriting team at The Belonging Co. A renewed passion began to grow. “God really had to deconstruct so many of my paradigms about praise and worship during that season. For so many years, I lead from a place of needing approval, but as God began to heal my heart and mind, I began to lead worship from a place of humility, vulnerability and intimacy. Everything I do is now rooted in the belief that God truly wants us to live in freedom - from parenting, friendships, marriage, songwriting, leading - the goal is to live in freedom in every area of our lives and bring others in to the awareness that God wants to set them free too.”

In 2020, Hope signed her first recording contract with Fair Trade Music Services. She released her first single, “Peace Be Still” in February 2020, followed by a full album, “Peace Be Still”. Hope also appears on both albums released by The Belonging Co., “All the Earth” and “Awe+Wonder”. You can find Hope’s music on all platforms. Hope has been married to the love of her life, David, for 14 years. They live in Nashville, TN with their two daughters Olivia and Brooklyn.

His RIAA platinum-certified single “” gave Wickham his first career No. 1, holding the top spot on Billboard’s National Christian Audience Chart for 13 consecutive weeks. The honors continued as the single was named Billboard’s 2014 No. 1 Song of the year and BMI’s 2015 Christian Song of the Year. In addition to its success at radio, the song has become a beloved anthem in the modern church, increasing Wickham’s recognition as a gifted artist and songwriter with a true heart of worship. No enemy I face will prosper And no power in hell will prevail I am convinced of this I’ll stake my life on this

CHORUS The hope of Jesus will not fail It never has, it never has, it never has The hope of Jesus will endure Forevermore, forevermore, forevermore

For freedom I have been set free And my Savior holds Oh, I am convinced of this I’ll stake my life on this Oh, I am convinced of this I’ll stake my life on this

(CHORUS)

My hope is in You, Lord You never fail me and You won’t start now

Every lie, every chain Every sickness, it will break Every fear, all my shame It stays buried in the grave Every lie, every chain Every sickness, it will break Every fear, all my shame It stays buried in the grave ‘Cause He tore through the veil And destroyed the gates of hell He’s alive, He’s awake He has risen from the grave

(CHORUS) PEACE BE STILL Written by Hope Darst, , Andrew Holt

I don’t want to be afraid Every time I face the waves I don’t want to be afraid I don’t want to be afraid I don’t want to fear the storm Just because I hear it roar I don’t want to fear the storm I don’t want to fear the storm

CHORUS Peace be still Say the word and I will Set my feet upon the sea Till I’m dancing in the deep Peace be still You are here so it is well Even when my eyes can’t see I will trust the voice that speaks

I’m not gonna be afraid ‘Cause these waves are only waves I’m not gonna be afraid No, I’m not gonna be afraid And I’m not gonna fear the storm You are greater than its roar Oh, I’m not gonna fear the storm No, I’m not gonna fear at all

(CHORUS)

Peace, peace over me

Let faith rise up O heart believe Let faith rise up in me (X4)

(CHORUS)

Peace over me You speak peace You speak peace Over me 1 Corinthians 15:12-34 English Standard Version (ESV)

The Resurrection of the Dead 12 Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. 15 We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.

20 But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. 24 Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For “God has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says, “all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him. 28 When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all.

29 Otherwise, what do people mean by being baptized on behalf of the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized on their behalf? 30 Why are we in danger every hour? 31 I protest, brothers, by my pride in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die every day! 32 What do I gain if, humanly speaking, I fought with beasts at Ephesus? If the dead are not raised, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.” 33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” 34 Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame. Only Jesus Can Save You! Here is what the Bible says:

… if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 (NIV)

Billy Graham’s Sinner’s Prayer (Millions have prayed this prayer, or something similar, to start a relationship with Christ. It’s not the words that saves you – it’s the yielding of your heart!)

“Dear Lord Jesus. I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name, Amen.”
