The number of species documented among the 10 physiographic regions recognized ranges from 38 in the Laguna de Mayrán to 91 in the Sierras y Llanuras Coahuilenses. The individual species occupy from one to 10 regions (x̄ = 3.5). The numbers of species that occupy individual regions range from 23 in the Sierras y Llanuras Coahuilenses to only one in each of three different regions. A Coeffcient of Biogeographic Resemblance (CBR) matrix indicates numbers of shared species among the 10 physiographic regions ranging from 20 between Llanuras de Coahuila y Nuevo León and Gran Sierra Plegada to 45 between Serranías del Burro and Sierras y Llanuras Coahuilenses. A similarity dendrogram based on the Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Averages (UPGMA) reveals that the Llanuras de Coahuila y Nuevo León region is most dissimilar when compared to the other nine regions in Coahuila (48.0 % similarity); all nine other regions cluster together at 57.0% and the highest similarity is 92.0% between Laguna de Mayrán and Sierra de la Paila.

Bisbee Abstract : Only a few hours drive south of the Texas border, an amazing variety of conifers can be seen in the Sierra Madre Oriental, a mountain range in the area around Saltillo, Coahuila. Most of these trees are not present in the United States, and many are rare endemics, found only on a few isolated mountain tops. In the fall of 2014 I had the opportunity to visit this area and photograph many of these rare and beautiful trees. The following report is a journal of our adventure.. This Bulletin is edited by the Cupressus Conservation Project, a non-profit organisation based in Geneva, Switzerland. It deals mainly with Cupressus species, but accepts manuscripts on other species of conifers. Emphasis is given to threatened and endangered taxa.
