Cleveland Site 1 (CL1) This site is situated southwest of the Transect Bearings lighthouse at Cleveland Point.

Drive to Cleveland Point and park near the lighthouse (UBD map 186, ref F9).

Walk down the cement boat ramp until you reach a large oyster encrusted rock on the south side of the ramp (left hand side). The start of transect 2 is approximately 102m (i.e. 102 paces) at a bearing of 184° from the oyster encrusted rock.

Deception Bay Site 1 (DBMB1) This site is located on the south-western side of Transect Bearings the Scarborough Boat Harbour. To access the site, take Endeavour Esplanade and park where there is a small loop in the Esplanade

(UBD map 81, ref M12).

Locate the picnic table under some Casuarina trees on the foreshore opposite from where you parked. Adjacent to this picnic table, down on the intertidal flat, is a large cement pipe.

The start of T2 is approximately 290m (i.e. 290 paces) out from the middle of the cement pipe at a bearing of 315° (northwest). This bearing (315°) is in line with a red channel marker and the southwest end of Mount Tibrogargan. Walk down a short narrow track through the mangroves to get onto the dirt road which is blocked off from the public via large wire gates. Walk about half way down the dirt road until you get to an easy slope down onto the intertidal flat on the right (southwest), if you get to the rocky bundwall you have gone too far.

Walk out adjacent to the rock wall and once at the end, where the last large, white fence pole is, continue to the left (northeast) approximately 600m keeping adjacent to the bundwall. Drive to the end of Dalurpa Street. Make your way out onto the intertidal flat and look for a white pole (depth marker?) to the north.

The start of Transect 2 is approximately 95 meters (i.e. 95 paces) back from (south) the white pole at a bearing of 164°.

Alternatively, walk north along the foreshore until you reach a narrow park with a metal picnic table at the foreshore (western) end. It is accessed via Koonwarra Parade approximately adjacent Baracoota Street (UBD Map 228, Ref C8).

The start of transect 2 is exactly 5m at a bearing of 90° from the white Telecom pole.

The site is accessed via Myora Springs. Walk out following the creek until you reach the "Myora Springs" sign on the intertidal flat as you near the end of the mangroves.

The start of transect 2 is approximately 150m (i.e. 150 paces) from this sign at a bearing of 242°.

Walk out along Amity Spit until you get to the small mangrove (this is the southwest most mangrove on the southwestern end of Amity, c. 3m tall) to the east (left).

Take the side road, off Bribie Island Road, going to the small reserve as shown on UBD map 52, ref F12 (it is signed “Turner’s Camp”). Park, and walk to the foreshore.

Proceed along the beach towards the bridge until you have passed the toilet block on the right. From the eastern corner of the toilet block, measure 57.5m at a bearing of 70° to get to the start of transect 2.

From the start of transect 2: the green channel markers to the northeast and southeast should be at bearings of 50° and 126° respectively; and, the northern mangrove edge of Tulleen Island should be at a bearing of 268°.

When this site was set up, four species of seagrass were noted: Zostera capricorni,

Halophila ovalis, Halophila spinulosa and
