Cast your screen to your monitor or SMARTBoard wirelessly. Allow students casting rights to share their work directly from their to their teacher.

Teachers: Set up the Google Cast for Education App on your teacher device.

Before beginning, be sure to set up your device connected to the SMARTboard as the casting receiver. You will need to ensure your Chrome browser is up to date ( or > Help>About ver. 55+). You should also be signed in to the Chrome browser and your GSuite for Education account.

Add the Google Cast for Education App

1. Go to the and find the Google Cast for Education App. 2. Click Add to Chrome. 3. Click Add app.

Open the Google Cast for Education App

1. Click the icon on the left side of the bookmarks bar in the Chrome browser. 2. Select the Google Cast for Education icon to open the app.

Set up your Google Cast for Education App

1. Select the settings menu 2. Type in a receiver name for your app, such as Room 301 or Ms. W’s Laptop. This is the name that is viewable to someone trying to cast to your screen. 3. Click Save. 4. Click Share . 5. Type the name of a class, or individual student email addresses, or colleagues’ email addresses to grant them permission to cast.

6. After granting casting permissions, select their casting access level: a. Can present—Others can cast to your screen anytime you have the app open. b. Can request—Others can request to cast; you need to Approve or Deny each request. c. If you did not include someone on your SHARE settings, they were not granted permission to cast to your receiver or nor will they see your receiver name when trying to cast. 7. Click Save.

Accepting Casts with Google Cast for Education App

To start accepting casts from your students, open the Cast for Education app on your computer. While the app is open, you or anyone you have given access can cast to your screen. Casts appear within your Cast for Education app on the teacher device connected to the projector.

Make sure your device is updated, and that you are signed in with your G Suite for Education account.

1. Click the Menu or More icon in the upper right side of the Chrome browser. 2. Select Cast… 3. Click the name of your teacher’s cast app, such as Room 301 or Ms. W’s Laptop. 4. (Optional) To switch between casting your whole screen and your current , click Cast to and make a selection. 5. When casting a specific tab, the icon will appear on the tab being cast.

Your screen casts to the Google Cast for Education app open on the teacher’s computer.
