The purpose of this position is to perform a wide variety of clinical administrative functions to contribute to the best possible experience for our families and keep Hear and Say’s Audiology services operating smoothly. This includes supporting both Hear and Say clients/families and our health care professionals.

Within our state-of-the-art hearing centre located in Ashgrove, we provide a range of hearing services to families enrolled in our services and from the community. We receive referrals from Ear, Nose and Throat specialists, local GPs and our school screening program.

Key responsibilities

This role will be responsible for:

• Stock take and replenishment of the supplies required for the Clinical Audiology team. • Maintenance and cleaning of clinical equipment items, such as tympanometry and otoscopy tips. • Maintaining our ‘retention options’ kits for each Centre. • Tracking children on the cochlear implant program and ensuring we maximize their upgrade opportunities either through their private health insurance or Hearing . • Facilitating upgrade applications by liaising with families and their private health funds or applying to Hearing Australia • Tracking and collating our clinical fitting fee payment requests from implant manufactures for upgrades and new systems • Submission of payment requests to the Hearing Services Program portal and maintaining documentation required for the audit process as needed. This process is in conjunction with the Adult Hearing Rehabilitation Program Manager. • Comply with the Hear and Say policies and procedures including the Work Health and Safety program. • Provision of hearing tests as required as part of Hear and Say’s bulk bill follow up Audiology clinics for our school screening program. • Support to Audiology within sessions as needed, such as tympanometry and performing the distractor role in Visual Reinforcement . Other tasks may include ear mould or swim plug fittings. • Audiology support during Centre based group programs, such as, tympanometry and checks, as needed. ______Basis for selection

The following selection criteria are required to successfully do the job:

• Minimum of diploma in Audiometry and understanding of the clinical practices of Audiology, including basic hearing tests and use of equipment preferred. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Excellent MS Office, medical office management systems, and computer literacy skills. Experience with Hearing Services Programs would be useful. • Ability to work in a team environment. • Evidence of high level of organisational skills and demonstrated time. management skills with a proven ability to prioritise tasks to meet competing deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. • Customer focused with ability to greet clients in a professional, friendly and respectful manner.
