Poodles in the Northwest The Poodle Club of America 2013 Regional

The Poodle Club of America, Inc. 2013 Regional is the combined effort of The Poodle Club of America, Columbia Poodle Club of Portland and Puget Sound Poodle Club of Seattle.

We can hardly wait to welcome you to our fabulous northwest corner of the continental United States. Our Show will take place as fall gets underway in Oregon. The week’s activities will take place in the Salem, Oregon area. Salem is the State Capitol of Oregon! We will use three different locations:

Hunt Test, Working Certificate and Working Certificate Excellent; will take place in Scio OR. Scio has a population of 1,000 and is the Covered Bridge Capitol of the West!

Tracking and Tracking Excellent will take place in Independence OR. Independence has a population of 9,000.

Seminars, Conformation, Junior Showmanship, Obedience/Rally and Agility will all take place at the Oregon State Fair and Expo Center, 2330 17th St. NE, Salem OR 97403. www.oregonstatefairexpo.org

Layout of Ad

The regular ad space size for a full page is 27 picas by 44 picas (4- 1/2" x 7-1/4").

This is the ad space size, not the page size. If you will notice in the catalog, the ad does not take up the full page size. If you want to take up the entire page size, known as a full page bleed, the size is 5-5/8" x 8-1/2" plus add 3/16" to the right side of the ad for bleed. The ad rate for a full page bleed is greater than for a regular ad size. Ask your ad chairman for the rate increase.

In your desk top publishing program, make the document size 5-7/8" x 8-1/2".

In your preferences, set the measurements to:

• Left hand margin at 3-1/2 picas (.583") from the left edge of the page. • Right hand margin at 30-1/2 picas (4.924 ") from the left edge of the page. • Top margin at 3-1/2 picas (.583" ) from the top edge of the page. • Bottom margin at 47 picas (7.917") from the top edge of the page.

This will give an ad space of 27 x 44 picas (4-1/2" x 7-1/4").

If you are designing a half page or quarter page ad, merely divide the space appropriately.

Designing the ad

Then type the copy into your computer layout space.

Make the type the font style and point size you desire.

Poodle Club of America 2013 Regional Specialty Poodles in the Northwest Trophy Donations

The 2013 Regional Specialty is coming this September! Even though the National Specialty is barely a memory, the Trophy Committee for the Regional Specialty is already hard at work selecting and procuring the wonderful prizes and trophies for our upcoming Regional. These awards represent the lasting tangible evidence of all the hard work which goes into creating a Poodle winner.

As all past supporters know, the Trophy Fund is the sole resource which provides the financial support to make these awards for our winners possible. As Regional Specialties do not take place every year, we are coming to you to help make this special event memorable for those who participate.
