The fight will be held at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.

Steve Spark will hold a slight weight advantage over Tim Tszyu in Newcastle tomorrow night as both fighters hit the scales ahead of their bout for the WBO Global and vacant Commonwealth super welterweight title.

Spark goes into Wednesday night's clash a huge underdog having taken the fight on late notice following Michael Zerafa's exit from the event citing concerns over COVID. The late ring-in has had a whirlwind week ever since the withdrawal and if he can pull off an unlikely victory the chain of events wouldn't look out of place in a movie script.

Spark, who usually fights at super , defeated Jack Brubaker at welterweight in April and will now make another jump in weight class to fight Tszyu.

The Queenslander weighed in 69.66kg for the fight while the undefeated Tszyu came in at 69.34 at the official weigh-in today.

Tszyu and Spark shared a handshake and a couple of laughs after the customary face-off but Tszyu was clear when asked how Spark's "Rocky story" will conclude.

"Tomorrow night it ends. There's only one way (it's going to end). Everyone knows it. I know it, and even he knows it," he said.

"(We're) always well prepared. I live by this sport. I've been living by this sport my whole life. I only know one thing is to train hard and fight even harder."

Spark, meanwhile, said he was grateful for all the support he has received after securing the biggest fight of his career.

While much displeasure has been expressed over Zerafa's decision to pull out of the heavily anticipated bout, the unpopular call has given Spark a huge opportunity. Even though the media, legends of the sport, fans, promoters and broadcasters heavily criticised Zerafa for not showing up for the fight, Spark couldn't hide his delight. "I'm so glad Michael Zerafa pulled out, as much as everyone is bashing him I'm glad he did," he said at yesterday's press conference. "Thank you Michael Zerafa, it's been great, you've set me up mate."

"I've been dreaming about this. I've always had an inkling I'd fight Tim, it's maybe fate how it's all fallen into place but I've always felt it would happen.

"I'm looking to cause the biggest upset here, this would set my family up financially, this would set myself up in the boxing world."

Spark (12-1, 11 KO) is a relative unknown and has worked at a bowling club in Toowoomba to help him financially throughout the early stages of his boxing career. The Queenslander will pocket $100,000 for fighting Tszyu and couldn't help having another dig at Zerafa. TIM TSZYU vs STEVE SPARK FIGHT CARD
