Welcome Bishop Doyle for Confirmations, Eugene Lavery's First Sunday

Annual Parish Meeting UPDATE FROM THE RECTOR and lunch after church In September 2016 we launched the Our One Foundation capital campaign with the goal of $6 million to achieve phase one of our Master Plan. This will preserve our legacy and prepare for our future. The primary goals of this campaign include: • Building a state-of-the art children’s and youth center Organ recital by Eugene • Providing a 50% larger Parish Hall that accommodates the whole parish Lavery @ 3 pm • Improving accessibility and functionality of educational/fellowship space • Updating and expanding office space for growing staff • Renovating our wonderful organ We currently have 92 pledges totaling $2.33 million. This is significant in that it puts us very close to the estimated building costs of $3.64 million (The total $6 million includes fees, property acquisition, and about $1 million in contingency). Thanks to our generous members who have pledged, this is now the largest and most successful single campaign in St. Alban’s history. Let me put this in perspective. In the Diocese of Texas, parishes doing capital campaigns typically raise two to three times their annual giving. For us, that would be This month we welcome Eugene Lavery between one and one and a half million dollars. We had already surpassed as our Director of Music. Life is full of messes. So is the church. And our families. Where is God when we ADULT suffer? When we sin? When we (and our institutions or marriages) go off the rails? The Apostle Paul wrote his first letter to a Christian community in Corinth SUNDAY asking the same questions. Join us as we dive into a fascinating, passionate, controversial, surprising, shock- SCHOOL ing, and very practical letter. We’ll seek to understand it as a whole text, not isolated verses (i.e., 1 Cor. 13). We’ll discover a God who can handle our messes, offer grace and strength, and helps us in our everyday lives.

Never read the Bible before? No worries. The class aims to make the text accessi- ble through cultural and historical background. Know the Bible really well? Great! Come share your insights.

All are welcome. You'll need a Bible! (We have extras.) 12
