The project will be connected into the pipeline systems of the Western Cape Water System supplying the City of Cape Town. The Berg Water Dam intends to be a world class example of how the use of the land and pristine catchment area surrounding a dam and its water body can promote bio-diversity conservation as its prime objective while also addressing social injustice by making economic opportunities available to previously disadvantaged communities.
