Global Korea, Global Australia

In February 2012 the AIIA organised a forum ‘Global Korea, Global Australia’ in partnership with the Korean Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS). It included a discussion of Austra- lia’s and Korea’s shared experience in middle power diplomacy; the shifting landscape of the Asia-Pacific; global governance; re- gional architecture in the Asia-Pacific; and the common economic agenda of Korea and Australia. The AIIA participated in the 4th ASEAN Australia New Zealand Dialogue in Kuala Overcoming Misperceptions in Australia-Japan Relations Lumpur on 4-6 December 2011.

Held in conjunction with Griffith University and the Japan Institute of International Affairs, this 1.5 track dialogue held in Brisbane from 18-19 August 2011 featured a frank exchange of views between Japanese and Australian policy officials and academics, in addition to commentary on the relationship's broader regional significance.
