Those Present: Cllr Mr Mullings (Chairman) Cllr Mr I Manion, Cllr Mrs S Stallard, Cllr L Richardson and Cllr Mrs J Rufey.

034.17pl Declarations of Interest by Members. All members and Officers present declared a personal interest in application AW/145/17/HH as the applicant is a Parish/District and County Cllr for Aldwick. Members and Officers agreed not to hear the application.

035.17pl To approve as a correct record the minutes of the Planning Committee held on Monday, 12th May June 2017. Resolved, that the minutes of the meeting held on Monday, 12th May June 2017 having been circulated in advance and read, be adopted as a true record.

AW/155/17/PL 22.06 Erection of 1 no. detached dwelling. This application affects the character and appearance of Craigweil House, Conservation Area. 28a Kingsway, Aldwick. Decision: OPPOSE Member objected to this application under GEN 7 on the Arun Local Plan 2003 on the following grounds: (ii) that the development would have an unacceptable adverse impact on the following; it does not demonstrate that it responds positively to the identified characteristics and resources of the site and the area to create attractive places and spaces with the needs of people in mind or respects and enhances local distinctiveness of adjoining occupiers, (iv) that it does have an unacceptable adverse impact on adjoining occupiers, (v) it does not take account of unacceptable adverse impacts that arise from adjoining land uses or property, (vi) it will not retain significant open or wooded areas which, in their own right, make a material contribution to the local environment, (vii) it will not allow for the safe movement of pedestrians and vehicles, and will not give priority to pedestrians. Therefore, Members agreed that the proposed development is in direct conflict with Policy Gen 7 (ii); (iv); (v); (vi) and (vii) of the Local Plan 2003. Also in direct conflict with Policy Area 2 of the Arun District Local Plan 2003 as the development will not enhance the Conservation Area. OWPC14410

AW/145/17/HH 22.06 Kitchen and porch extensions. 4 Craigweil Lane, Aldwick. NOT HEARD All members and Officers present declared a personal interest in application AW/145/17/HH as the applicant is a Parish/District and County Cllr for Aldwick. Members and Officers agreed not to hear this application.
