Paxton Momentum Continues: Senator Donna Campbell Endorses Endorsement Follows Stunning First-Place Finish

(McKinney, ) - On the heels of his stunning first-place finish last week, Senator Ken Paxton is honored to announce the endorsement of Texas State Senator Donna Campbell (R-SD 25) in his campaign for .

Senator Campbell said, "I know Ken Paxton as a man of integrity and the highest character. He is an exceptional conservative leader in Texas and I am proud to endorse him for Attorney General. His performance in the March 4th election proves that grassroots conservatives believe Ken Paxton is the best candidate to defend our values and our state against the egregious acts of President Obama."

Senator Paxton commented, “I congratulate Donna on her own strong primary victory, and I’m honored that she has endorsed my candidacy. Senator Campbell is a friend and colleague and one of the most committed conservatives I know. Her endorsement and active support will help us build on our winning margins in key SD 25 counties and help us finish the job we started last week.”

Last Tuesday, Senator Paxton shocked political observers with his first-place showing. During early voting, the Dan Branch campaign released a poll showing Representative Branch with an almost 2-1 lead over Senator Paxton. Despite being outspent more than 2-1, Senator Paxton led the field with 44%, coming within just 6 points of winning outright.

Additionally, Paxton won Dan Branch’s home county of and his other “home” county of Bexar, where Rep. Branch grew up and still has family. The McKinney Republican won the largest seven GOP counties including Harris, Tarrant, Dallas, Bexar, Collin, Montgomery and Denton. Senator Paxton won 19 of the top 20 counties in Texas, and won 51 of the top 75 counties representing approximately 85% of the GOP vote.
