Health Technical Support:  Supported the development of a strategic response plan for health sector (WHO)  Assisted with field and remote assessments (WHO)  Established a drought impact reporting system (WHO)  Designed and distributed health care worker guidance tools on El Niño effects (WHO)  Developed (with National Department of Health) a costed proposal for water provision to health facilities (WHO)  Strengthen disease surveillance (WHO)  Strengthen coordination between provincial health authorities and health partners (WHO) Response:  Stockpiling for potential cholera outbreak (WHO)  Prepositioning of Emergency Reproductive Health Kits in the , and Mt. Nutrition Technical Support:  Developed recommended food basket for drought affected communities (UNICEF)  Supporting the publication of SAM management protocol, inpatient and outpatient therapeutic care register, and infant and young child feeding training materials (UNICEF) Response:  Procurement and provision of micronutrient powders (UNICEF)  Acquisition of severe acute malnutrition screening equipment (UNICEF) Coordination:  Worked with National Department of Health to ensure sufficient therapeutic feeding supplies available in 15 provinces (UNICEF)  Co-leading of Nutrition Cluster (UNICEF)

Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Technical Support:  Rapid WASH assessment in Chauve and Sina Sina districts of Chimbu Province (UNICEF)  Technical support to government (National Department of Health & National WATSAN Committee) and WASH cluster (UNICEF)  Revision of public information messages (UNICEF)  Training and mentoring of communities to promote PHHE practices (IOM) Response:  Procurement of 20,000 10L water containers, 2,000 20L buckets and 5 portable Bacteriological Field Test Kits (UNICEF)  Provision of 2,000 WASH NFI kits at community level (IOM)  Provision of 64 collapsible water containers to / in (IOM)  Drilling and repairing of 5 boreholes (IOM)
