St Mary's Jn - Whitechapel Jn (via St Mary's curve) [London Underground] [22] On occasions of Millwall home football matches, return trains direct to Aldgate East or Liverpool Street were available to leave Surrey Quays from approx. 2hr 15min after K.O. Although standby trains were regularly made available, they only rarely operated in public service via the curve. The last such train ran on 28 January 1995 – see BLN 756 item 11. From 24 March 1995: Line temporarily closed for reconstruction works. However, the former service of standby return football trains did not resume with the reopening to traffic of the East London line and this curve from 23 March 1998.
