Welsh Rowing would like to thank Sport for their continued support financially and for the additional investment which has allowed us to work with dolmans solicitors to support the development of the new articles of Association and to appoint a leadership role. Thanks to Ian Blackburn for the continued support shown to us as a National Governing Body.

It was highlighted that financially and from a governance perspective that we are now in a more secure position, we have more work to do in ensuring we are committing to areas of compliance required to us to function as a governing body, including Equity, Safeguarding and Self Assurance work. A financial administrator has been appointed to work for us to ensure the quick and effective running of day to day financial tasks of the National governing Body.

JG questioned whether it was inappropriate that Welsh Rowing made a profit out of the 2013 Home International Regatta team in Nottingham.

HB stated Welsh Rowing support the ongoing evaluation of this event as part of a review of the Welsh pathway. We will seek more financial backing for this in the future as well as establishing a working party in advance of the Welsh hosting of the event as it costs considerable amounts to host.

4.0 Nomination The acceptance of the short notice of business was voted on and accepted. and election of board The longest standing director that resigned and stood for re-election at the AGM as a Board Director was Sarah Thomas. The vote was passed and concluded that Sarah will continue for a further 3 year term as Director for Welsh Rowing.

CS went through detail and background in brief of all board directors that are standing to be voted in at the AGM. This information was sent out with AGM notice through email.

Five potential candidates went through the voting process for ratification at the AGM: Dawn Brace Caroline Pascoe Colin Hughes David Phenis Andrew Weeks

All of the above were approved and accepted in at the AGM as Board Directors for Welsh Rowing on a 3 year term.

A point was put forward for the rowing community to add agenda items to the AGM. CS took this point on board and discussed with the AGM that a future plan for Welsh Rowing is to have regional meetings to discuss such matters and CS encouraged members to not wait until an AGM to raise issues, concerns or ask questions and provide feedback, this can be a continual process and CS would always endeavour to answer questions via e-mial/phone or face to face. MH raised the sale of the inclusive boat that had been sold. This boat belonged to Federation of Disability Sport Wales, who had agreed to sell the boat to the club. The remainder of the boats were being looked at for transferring ownership to Welsh Rowing.

It was noted that if any elected representatives from clubs would like to raise points or propose any changes at following AGM’s this must be done in line with the timescales set out within the articles. Caroline Spanton closed the AGM at 19.35 and thanked Monmouth Rowing Club for allowing us to host the meeting in the Club
