“ADOPTING THE CALABARZON REGIONAL STATISTICS COMMITTEE CY 2020 ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT”

WHEREAS, the Regional Statistical Committee (RSC) was established to provide direction and guidance to regional/local statistical development and serve as venue for discussion and resolution of statistical issues at the regional and local levels;

WHEREAS, as the highest policy making and coordinating body on statistical matters in the region, the CALABARZON RSC is also responsible in approving statistical development activities at the regional and local levels, and in monitoring the status of their implementation;

WHEREAS, the CALABARZON RSC consistently excels in the performance of its functions in statistical policy making, programming, and advocacy at the local level as it successfully retained the top spot as the Best RSC in 2020 among all the regions;

WHEREAS, the 2020 activities and accomplishments of the CALABARZON RSC are shown in “Annex A” which forms part of this resolution;

NOW THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to adopt the CALABARZON Regional Statistics Committee CY 2020 Accomplishment Report.

CALABARZON Regional Statistics Committee CY 2020 Accomplishment Report

1. Coordinated, consolidated, and conducted statistics related activities: a. CALABARZON Calendar of Statistical Activities in celebration of the 31st National Statistics Month (NSM); b. Updating of the 2020 CALABARZON Regional Social and Economic Trends and Core Regional Indicators, Sustainable Development Goals Indicators, and Women and Men Statistical Journal;

2. Completed data requirements for the Quarterly Regional Economic Situationer and 2019 Regional Development Report;

3. Advocated and supported the revision and rebasing of the 2019 Gross Regional Domestic Product and Gross Regional Domestic Expenditure, Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System, Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics, conduct of the 2020 Census of Population and Housing, and implementation of the Philippine Identification System pre-registration;

4. Reviewed and monitored the statistical development programs in 2018-2019;

5. Enhanced generation of sex-disaggregated data of workers affected by retrenchment and shutdown;

6. Conducted Training on Statistical Standard and Classification Systems to the local government units in preparation for the implementation of Community-Based Monitoring System and to promote the use of statistical standards and classification systems at the local level;

7. Deliberated on issues and recommended actions on the compilation of road crash statistics and on the identification and confirmation of legal boundary in CALABARZON;

8. Supported and conducted various activities in celebration of the 31st NSM and 3rd World Statistics Day such as the NSM Opening Ceremony, School Data Dissemination Forum, and Economic and Financial Inclusion Forum;

9. Conducted four regular meetings and two technical working group meetings to harmonize the collection and compilation of data on road crash statistics;
