Officer approached one, grabbed him and retrieved the tire and turned to the other biker who was carrying a tire and yelled for him to stop. He dropped the tire and they all rode off riding very fast. Officer recovered the tires, ran inside Winthrop Police Department and contacted other units in the area and caught subject #2 near Park and Stewart. Officer caught subject #1 at Ebenezer and Stewart St. Both subjects were placed into custody and brought back to the department. _ Both subjects said they were riding through campus, and subject #1 stated he had watched subjects #4 & 7, who had tools, go to the bike rack located in front of incident location and take the tires off the bike. They were riding away when they ran into the officer near Kinard. Subject #1 took officer to the incident location, because they had no idea where they had taken the tires from on campus. Subject 1 & 2 also gave the names of the other parties involved in this crime. Subjects 1 & 2*s parents were contacted and representative came for subject #2. After officer talked with the mother on the telephone, she stated she couldn't leave the residence. Subject #1 was turned over to his mother.
