Heart Watch - August 2018 Heart Watch supports people with long term health conditions to be active. Active would like to update all customers on developments to the Heart Watch programme. Please see the reverse for our timetable.

Heart Watch Committee and Members Support The Heart Watch Members Support Group was formed in the early days of the Heart Watch programme, which, whilst it was run by the council wasn't funded by the NHS and had very little resources. The committee was set up to raise funds to purchase items of equipment for the programme and staff training to deliver and expand the programme. Without the support of these groups, the programme would have ceased and not be the success it is today.

The group support the development of the Active Leeds service. Heart Watch meetings are quarterly and any customer is welcome to attend. The next meeting is Wednesday 5th September at 11.45 at Leisure Centre.

Volunteers Wanted for Peer Mentors

Active Leeds is recruiting volunteers to become Peer Mentors to support people accessing the Heart Watch Programme.

Peer Mentors will support their peers to become regular attendees of Heart Watch. Peer Mentors will use their own experiences to guide people to overcome barriers. If you want a rewarding experience, help people in a similar position and give a little back to the programme, peer mentoring could be for you.
