Webasto MiniCup: Kickoff for the U10 Juniors

At the Gauting indoor soccer tournament, Webasto support gets the ball rolling once again in 2015/2016

Stockdorf/Munich – December 2, 2015 – By now, the Webasto MiniCup has become a fixed event on the match calendar of the U10 Juniors. When the indoor soccer tournament now goes into high gear for the 15th time, Webasto is right there again, as the principal sponsor of the event that bears its name. “For these children the tournament is the sports highlight of the year and a real soccer festival. We’re happy to let ourselves be infected by the enormous excitement over and over again,” says Wolfgang Wern, overall head of HR for the Webasto Group. “We view the Webasto MiniCup as an enriching asset for the region, to which we are pleased to contribute.” Dr. Wolfram von Rhein, who organizes the tournament for the Gauting SC (Sports Club), appreciates Webasto’s commitment. “In order to organize a tournament of this quality, we are dependent on the support of the business world. Qualifying matches on December 5th As in the Soccer World Championship, qualifying matches are scheduled before the teams go into the final round. The kickoff takes place on Saturday, December 5 2015 at 10.00 am in the gymnasium on the Gauting school campus. The qualifying round for the Webasto MiniCup consists of ten teams initially competing with each other in group games and then in a knockout round. Running time for each match is twelve minutes. The team that wins the qualification tournament is then eligible to play in the final championship tournament on January 23, 2016. The Gauting SC has already been set as the host for the qualifying phase that precedes the finals, but as the home team at the qualifying tournament, it participates in the group stage noncompetitively.

The participants at the Webasto MiniCup In the qualification competition, ten teams initially play against one another in two groups. In the first group, the teams competing in close encounters include the Gauting SC, TSV Gilching- Argelsried, SV Waldeck, SC Unterpfaffenhofen and the FV Illertissen. The second group is comprised of the SpVgg Bayern Hof, 1. SC Gröbenzell, SV Planegg-Krailling, FT Starnberg 09 and the TSV Schwabhausen.

In the finals, the Gauting SC is competing against top teams such as the juniors of the FC Bayern (Bavaria Soccer Club), Red Bull Salzburg, SpVV Greuter Fürth and the FC Ingolstadt. The second group in the finals is comprised of the FC Augsburg (winner of the Webasto MiniCup 2014/2015), 1st FC Nuremberg, TSV 1860 Munich, SpVgg Unterhaching and the club emerging victorious from the qualification tournament of December 5, 2015.

The final, championship round of the Webasto MiniCup will be held on January 23, 2016 starting at 10.00 am, also in the gymnasium on the Gauting school campus. Admission to the qualifying an final rounds is free.
