Registration, breakfast, and the morning plenary will take place at the Hinson Campus Center in Conference Rooms A and B. The Hinson Campus Center is located on the northeastern part of campus, a short walk from VTA’s 23, 25, 54, 55, and 323 bus lines. See summit packet and map here. HOW TO GET TO THE SILICON VALLEY SUMMIT

FROM DOWNTOWN SAN FRANCISCO TO MOUNTAIN VIEW The first Caltrain from San Francisco leaves at 8:15am. Trains operate hourly. A schedule for train 421, as well as associated fares by zone, is included below. Go here to see a full weekend schedule. It will take about 1 hour and 17 minutes to travel to Mountain View.

Fares from San Francisco (and any stations from San Bruno northward) to Mountain View are $6.75 ($7.25 without Clipper) for adults, $3.25 ($3.50 without Clipper) for seniors, disabled, and youth 5-18.

To ensure you do not miss your train, arrive at least 10mins prior to departure. Allow time to purchase tickets from ticketing machine and/or to reload your , if necessary. If you have a Clipper card, fare is discounted by 50 cents in each direction. Tickets are NOT sold onboard.

Ticketing machines accept credit cards, and can make up to $19.50 in coin change if using cash. Clipper add value machines at 4th and King do NOT accept cash, but do take credit and debit card. Clipper users MUST have at least $1.25 on the card to ride the train, or the system will not let you tag on.

If you have any Caltrain Monthly Pass, you are allowed to ride the entire system free of charge. If you have a Caltrain Monthly Pass with two zones or more, you are also able to ride SamTrans and VTA (if applicable) free of charge. FROM SOUTHWESTERN SAN FRANCISCO AND NORTHERN PENINSULA TO MOUNTAIN VIEW Connect to Millbrae BART station and transfer to Station Option 1 Option 2 Fare to Caltrain. SFO 8:05am 8:25am $4.25 A shuttle will be provided from Mountain View Caltrain to De Anza College, operating about Arrive Millbrae 8:09am 8:29am - every 30mins. The shuttle seats 14 people, and Board train 421 at 8:39am 8:39am - has extremely limited bicycle storage space. Shuttle departures are timed with Caltrain, VTA Light Rail, and route 522 arrivals. Board the shuttle at Mountain View Caltrain on the bay behind the Caltrain shuttles (see map below), at the 51 stop at Castro/El Camino Real by Peet’s Coffee and Tea, and at De Anza College Flint Center dropoff.

IF YOU MISS THE LAST SHUTTLE If you are coming to the summit on a later Caltrain, do not exit at Mountain View station. Instead, exit at , and walk to the transit center, which is just south of the station. There, catch either the 54 or 55 bus, whichever comes first. The 54 runs every 45 minutes, while the 55 runs every 30 minutes. Both will take you to De Anza College.

If you are riding a 522 bus that will miss the last shuttle connection, do not exit at Castro in Mountain View. Instead, off board the bus at Fair Oaks/Remington, and transfer to the 53 line. See schedule below and on next page.

Bike racks are available throughout campus; bike racks near the conference venue are located on the east side of the building.

RETURNING TO MOUNTAIN VIEW CALTRAIN After the summit ends, shuttles will transport attendees back to El Camino Real/Castro and Mountain View Caltrain at approximately 20-minute frequencies.(The shuttle will continue running until all attendees have left the summit, although connections to transit are not guaranteed).

Book with up to 5 additional passengers for a discounted fare. Clipper cards are NOT accepted. Tickets are sold onboard, but there is a $10 surcharge. Once you arrive at Diridon, walk down to the passageway and turn left (if coming from the northernmost end) or right (if coming from the southernmost end), then turn left to go up the ramp, and right into the train station. After exiting the station, turn right at Montgomery (street just after the lawn) and proceed south to San Carlos Street. Refer to map. VIA BART & VTA: Ride BART to Fremont BART station, and transfer to the 181. Off board the 181 at 2nd & Santa Clara and transfer to the 323. Total fare from Macarthur to De Anza: $4.35 BART + $4.00 VTA 181 + $2.00 VTA 323 = $10.35. If coming from Milpitas, board the 181 from the Great Mall Transit Center.

BIKING From Downtown San Jose to De Anza College (9.8mi, ~60min). A bike train (group of bicyclists) will depart from Philz Coffee at 4th and San Antonio in Downtown San Jose at 8am. This ride is expected to take approximately one hour and top speeds are not expected to exceed 12 mph. If you miss the bike train, track the ride at http://www.glympse.com/!SanJoseBikeTrain. Due to time constraints, a bike train will NOT be offered on the way back, however, biking directions back to Downtown San Jose will be offered. CARPOOL A carpool will be provided from the TransForm San Jose office (Peace & Justice Center, 48 S 7th Street) to the summit site that departs at 7:30am. Space is limited to four passengers. NOTE: If you are interested in boarding Amtrak train 742 to return to your destination, you must be on the 323 by 4:01PM because the connecting train departs at 5:10pm. If you are unable to make your connection, your ticket is good on all Capitol Corridor trains that depart AFTER the time originally purchased.

RETURNING TO THE EAST BAY: To return to the East Bay, it would be faster to ride Caltrain to San Francisco, and transfer to BART in Downtown San Francisco. See the Summit Shuttle to Caltrain schedule above. CARPOOLING: For attendees interested in carpooling, a list of people who are interested in providing carpools, along with their location and contact info, as well as driving directions, will be provided. PARKING: Please park at the Flint Center garage. The De Anza Flea Market will be taking place on the same day as the summit, closing lots A & B. PARKING IS $5 ON SATURDAY, CASH ONLY. The Flint Center garage is a short walk from the Hinson Campus Center.

To get to the Flint Center Garage, exit Highway 85 at Stevens Creek Boulevard, and take the 1st right-turn pocket to the Flint Center. See map of De Anza College in your summit packet.

ADA ACCESSIBILITY All travel options except shuttles are ADA-accessible. Please let us know in advance if you wish to be accommodated on the shuttles. In addition, campus facilities are ADA-accessible.

ADVISORY: SAN FRANCISCO CHINESE NEW YEAR PARADE The annual Chinese New Year parade is expected to take place in San Francisco after 5:00pm. For those returning to SF or Oakland/East Bay, please allow extra travel time on transit or on the freeway.
