Membership and Development Officer Full-time position, based in Background Eurogroup for Animals is the Brussels based European umbrella advocacy organisation, federating 60 national and international members across Europe and beyond. Together we provide a voice for the billions of animals kept in laboratories, farms and homes or living in the wild. The purpose of Eurogroup for Animals is to drive positive change for animals by convening its members around common goals, and coordinating EU wide action to jointly influence EU laws and policies. With growing emphasis on delivering and demonstrating concrete results for animals despite limited budgets in a stagnating European legislative landscape, Eurogroup for Animals’ advocacy portfolio consists of dedicated programmes and a growing portfolio of projects including an-European campaigns. This happens against the background of general advocacy work with the , and European Council to create a favourable political environment for .

Purpose of the role Over the past two years Eurogroup for Animals has successfully grown its network of members and allies to drive change for animals in Europe. This is an exciting time for a new Membership and Development Officer to join our team and act as the primary interface between Eurogroup for Animals and its members and other supporters. The Membership and Development Officer will implement the organisation’s membership development and resource mobilisation strategy by identifying and mobilising new supporters and engaging with members in order to maximise Eurogroup for Animals’ impact for animals across the EU.

Primary responsibilities ● Work with the Communications and Development Manager to develop and deliver membership and donor engagement, growth and retention strategies. ● Act as the first point of contact for members and prospective members, dealing with enquiries via multiple communication channels (website, email,Twitter, Facebook), providing a high level of member service, and maintaining up to date membership data accordingly. ● Liaise with existing members to enhance their membership experience, optimise retention, minimise lapses in membership, and orchestrate our overall approach to communication and interaction with members. ● Draft funding applications to foundations and the EU institutions. ● Produce communication products in support of the above tasks, in collaboration with the communications team. ● Collate and produce membership related reports including value reports, analysis of trends, member satisfaction, and relevant developments in animal advocacy landscape. ● Support the planning and delivery of member engagement events, and attend events, both internally and externally to promote Eurogroup for Animals among relevant audiences. ● In close collaboration with colleagues ensure that the organisation’s operational processes and systems are adapted to its development and member/donor cultivation needs. ● Administer Eurogroup for Animals’ CRM system (Salesforce) including member data, applications, invoices, reminders, follow up on payments, and any other engagement statistics (marketing measurement systems).
