• The purpose is to develop a bike use area that kids can use to have fun and improve their fitness and balance skills. Where are we at?

• Various meetings with the Esperance Shire and the Department of Sport and Recreation since 2014 in relation to funding. • Fundraising has secured money for association fees and track design and planning • The Esperance BMX Association is incorporated which allows grant applications to be submitted Southern Districts BMX Track Open to the public • Currently investigating track location Bike Park Ideas North Perth

What is BMX?

• Activity using pedal powered which race over a track ~300 metres long

• Track has a start ramp, bumps and jumps and turns

• Not noisy, however, it has much of the excitement of motorcycle at a Bunbury BMX Track fraction of the price BMX

• BMX Racing ( motocross) is a race competition between riders of similar ages and skills riding their bicycles over jumps and bumps and around banked turns.

• BMX racing ranges from Club level right through to State, National and World Championship level for all ages. BMX is also an Elite Olympic Sport! Kalgoorlie BMX Track BMX in WA

• Currently 20 formal BMX tracks across Western Australia, with 8 of these in Perth • Many examples in WA of BMX tracks being located centrally, and being open and available for public use, including Bull Creek (Perth), Northam, Rockingham
