This document describes the points to be noted when using this integrated debugger. Be sure to read this document before using the integrated debugger. For details of how to use and the functions of the integrated debugger, refer to the online help supplied with the product or the "ID850QB Integrated Debugger V2.80 Operation (Windows-based)" User's Manual (document number: U16973EJ). 1. ID850QB V2.80 OPERATING ENVIRONMENT (1) Host machine PC-9821 series, PC98-NX series, and IBM PC/AT compatible machines CPU Pentium 400 MHz or above Main memory 128 MB or more (256 MB or more recommended) OS Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0Note, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows XP * It is recommended to install the latest service pack for each OS. PC card PCMCIA 2.1/JEIDA standard Ver.4.2-compliant PC card slot USB USB 2.0 * Be sure to use Windows 2000 SP4 or later. * Be sure to use Windows XP SP1 or later. Note Can be used only when the N-Wire CARD is connected. (2) Supported devices The ID850QB can be connected to the following two types of emulators. Target Device Emulator V850E1, V850ES Series microcontroller with on-chip debug N-Wire CARD unit, microcontroller with Nx85ET core (Part number: IE-V850E1-CD-NW) Device supported by IECUBE IECUBE Both emulators can be connected to the host machine at the same time, but cannot be used at the same time. The ID850QB activates IECUBE when the power to IECUBE is on, and the N-Wire CARD when the power to IECUBE is off. (3) Supported tools C compiler package CA850 V2.60 or later System performance analyzer AZ850 V3.20 or later (only software trace is supported) Performance analysis tuning tool TW V1.10 or laterNote (only N-Wire CARD is supported) Supported device driver IE-PC Driver V2.10 or later (used when N-Wire CARD is connected) USB driver USB driver V1.00 or later (used when IECUBE is connected) 2/43 Integrated Debugger ID850QB V2.80 Operating Precautions (SUD-DT-04-0007) 2. FILES NECESSARY FOR EXECUTING ID850QB V2.80 The following files are necessary for using ID850QB V2.80. (1) ID850QB system file (this product) Included in the folder “ID850QB\” in the CD-ROM. (2) USB driver (supplied with ID850QB) The USB driver is installed when the ID850QB is installed. Usually it is not necessary to install the USB driver individually, but if required, it is included in the folder “DRIVER\IECUBE\” in the CD- ROM for installation. (3) Device file (separately available) Programs unique to each device are supplied in the device file. Be sure to use the device file corresponding to the device to be debugged. INSTALLATION It is necessary to install the following before installing ID850QB V2.80. z USB driver z ID850QB z Device file 3.1 USB Driver and ID850QB It is necessary to install the USB driver before using IECUBE. The USB driver is installed when the ID850QB is installed. 3.1.1 Notes on installation (1) The IECUBE USB driver is installed when the ID850QB is installed. Since installation of the USB driver is not executed by the Windows Plug & Play function, be sure not connect IECUBE and the host machine until the installation is complete. (2) Uninstall the ID850NWC if it has been installed before installing the ID850QB. (3) Because it may be necessary to restart the computer after installation, terminate all other applications. (4) To re-install ID850QB V2.80, uninstall the copy of ID850QB V2.80 already installed. If this product is installed in a different directory without uninstalling the first copy of ID850QB V2.80, the first copy of ID850QB V2.80 already installed cannot be uninstalled. (5) Do not install ID850QB V2.80 in a directory with a name containing a space or a multi-byte character; otherwise the related tools, such as the project manager, that are installed in the same directory as this product may not be correctly executed depending on their version. (6) The following file will be created after ID850QB V2.80 has been installed. This file is necessary for uninstalling ID850QB V2.80 and must not be deleted (the installation destination is assumed to be C:\NECTools32). C: \NECTools32\SETUP\*.* (7) The ID850QB help is supplied in the HTML help format. If the help is not displayed correctly, proceed as follows. • Install the latest service pack when using other than Windows NT 4.0. • Activate “hhctrl.ocx 1.40 installer” included in ID850QB V2.80 when using other than Windows NT 4.0. (Select [Start] → [Program] → [NEC Tools 32] → [hhctrl.ocx 1.40 installer]) 4/43 Integrated Debugger ID850QB V2.80 Operating Precautions (SUD-DT-04-0007) This procedure is not required when using a host machine in which Windows 98, Windows 2000, or Windows XP is installed. (8) The font size of the help menu is affected by the font settings in Internet Explorer. The display is too large in the default size (“Medium”) of Internet Explorer. Therefore, change the font size to “Smallest” in [Fonts] from the [View] menu and restart the help. In case of IE 4.0, however, the font size for the help menu cannot be changed. (9) The project manager is not supported in ID850QB V2.80 or later. Use PM plus. PM plus is included in CA850 V2.60 or later, so upgrade to CA850 to V2.60 or later. If the project manager is used with ID850QB V2.80 or earlier, the following warning is displayed. Wf109: project manager cannot be used with the debugger of this version. Please use PM plus. (10) Caution on authority for installation To install the ID78K4-NS V2.52 in Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP, the authority of the administrator is necessary. (11) ID850QB V2.80 cannot be installed in the Japanese Windows environment. If an attempt is made to install ID850QB V2.80 in the Japanese Windows environment, a message indicating a file transfer error is displayed and the installation is aborted. This situation also occurs if Japanese is specified as the system language on the “Regional Settings Properties” tab. 3.1.2 Procedure for installing in Windows 98, Windows Me, or Windows 2000 This section explains the procedure when installing ID850QB V2.80 in Windows 98, Windows Me, or Windows 2000, assuming that ID850QB V2.80 is installed under the directory "C:\nectools32". (1) Turn on power to the host machine and start Windows. (2) Insert the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive. The installer is started automatically. If it does not start automatically, start the program “setup.exe” from the directory NEC_ ID850QB\ID850QB\DISK1. After starting the program, follow the directions on the screen to continue installation. When the product ID is input, the Select Components window will appear. Follow the directions on the screen to continue installation. ID850QB V2.80 is installed and the USB driver is then installed. 5/43 Integrated Debugger ID850QB V2.80 Operating Precautions (SUD-DT-04-0007) The following message is displayed if the ID850NWC or ID850QB has already been installed. Uninstall the product previously installed. Click the Finish button. This completes installation of the ID850QB and the USB driver. (5) Connect IECUBE and the computer and apply power to IECUBE. The following screens are displayed sequentially
