1 Principal’s Report

I would like to welcome all of our students, staff, parents/carers and community members to the 2019 school year. It is with a great deal of excitement that I begin my tenure here as Principal of NDSC. I am committed to ensuring that NDSC continues to grow and develop its teaching and learning programs so as to provide the students with the best possible educational outcomes.

My early impressions are extremely positive. I have been made to feel very welcome by students and staff and I know that the school will continue to be a positive environment for all. It would be remiss of me not to pay thanks to my predecessor, John Wilson, and thank him for stepping in to steer the ship under difficult circumstances.

We begin the year with our highest student numbers for some time. Our prediction of 170 (up from 150 in 2018) students has in fact, risen to 180. This is really pleasing and provides us with an increase in funds, always a bonus.

NDSC has had a number of new staff start with us this year. I would like to welcome the following staff:  Rhys Conder (Maths)  Elizabeth Williams (Maths)  Philip Jefferey (PE and VCAL)  Julia Howell (Art)  Melanie Williams (English)  Karen Brooks (Integration)  Adele Letch (Integration)  Meaghan McNeill (Integration)  Jacqueline Early (Integration)

The School Council Election process will begin shortly and more information will come out in the next newsletter.

Finally I would like to extend an invitation to parents and carers to make contact with me should you have any concerns or issues.
