The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Greater Washington, DC Board of Governors Form

The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Greater Washington, DC (OSUDC) elects candidates for its Board of Governors from a pool of alumni and friends of Ohio State who have demonstrated at least one year of dedicated commitment to Ohio State and to the Alumni Club in the DC area through planning an event, participating on a , or demonstrating a benefit to the club. Board membership allows you the ability to directly influence the direction of the OSUDC Alumni Club and help shape its future.

EXPECTATIONS

In accepting the one-year appointment, an individual agrees to fulfill the requirements and meet the responsibilities associated with Board membership. All members must:

1. Meetings: Regularly attend in person the meetings of the OSUDC Board of Governors (approximately once a month). Attendance via telecon is acceptable on occasion, but in person attendance at meetings is preferred. 2. Club Events and Activities: Regularly attend and, when needed, host and/or coordinate Club events and activities. Suggest new opportunities for the involvement and engagement of local alumni and friends of Ohio State. Become a of a committee within 1 year of Board Membership. 3. Game Watch Hosting: Host game watch events during football season as needed. Each Board member will be expected to host game watch events each season. Number of games to be determined prior to beginning of season allowing for proper scheduling (typically 4 games per season). 4. Communication: Respond in a timely manner to from the OSUDC Officers; fellow Board members; representatives and staff of the OSUAA; and representatives of other Ohio State schools, departments, and organizations. Notify the OSUDC President of any changes in contact information or membership status. 5. Membership: Be a yearly dues-paying member of The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Greater Washington, DC ($25/year), and a Sustaining or Lifetime dues paying member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association, Inc ($75/year). (Note: You must be an alumnus or alumna of Ohio State to serve on the board of OSUDC but it is not required for membership in either organization. Both groups have an associate membership status for nongraduates and friends of Ohio State.)

NOMINATION PROCESS

Self- for the Board are preferred. The Nominating Committee will consider candidates and recommend a slate of nominees to the Alumni Club members twice per year, at the annual Spring Membership Meeting, and in the fall at our Yearly Planning Meeting, with terms commencing immediately following.
