Hurunui District Council elections: Introducing Nicky Anderson standing for West Ward.

My name is Nicky Anderson, I am married to Duncan and we live at Rotherham. We have two sons who work as shepherds in McKenzie I have always felt a real belonging to this district and the ! people and landscapes which make it special. My last three years on council have really heightened my love for Hurunui; more insight into the people and places, the ‘just do it’ attitude of so many. My will to advocate for our communities is stronger: if elected, I will continue to advocate on your behalf around the council table, including to central government.

Skills and experience of relevance:

• Duncan and I are business owners and employers, we are impacted by the decisions of Council and Central Government first hand, as you are. • background in accountancy • managed Medical Centre’s and Rotherham Medical Centre’s transition to community ownership; listening to communities • manager Amuri Community Health Centre and Nursing for 12 and seven years respectively: advocating and planning for extended medical and social services in the district, building relationships in Hurunui communities • elected to my first term as Hurunui District councillor in 2016

Retaining and improving services and infrastructure in our areas means we can retain and attract people at every stage of life. We need people to work in and support our businesses, and to keep our small towns and hinterland balanced and vibrant.

I believe I am respectful, trustworthy, a good listener, and have good business skills. I hope you will think me worthy of your vote. Feel free to contact me on 027 531 5997 or at [email protected]
