Mike Osburn 15 To the Oklahoma Business Community: The State Chamber of Oklahoma is the statewide voice of business at the State Capitol. We are a trusted source of information in the legislative and political process and successful advocates for the business community. We work with our members to be sure the voice of job creators is at the forefront of the debates when the men and women creating public policy cast their votes. Our members – over 1,500 strong, representing 350,000 employees – expect and deserve no less. The business community’s engagement in the legislative process has helped move Oklahoma forward with reforms to workers’ compensation, public pensions and our legal system. Oklahoma’s economy is growing and that is creating more jobs and bringing record revenues into the state treasury. Continuing that trend requires lawmakers to understand the need for investment in critical areas like infrastructure, workforce development and effective tax policies. The State Chamber has released its legislative agenda as developed by our members and approved by the Board of Directors. We look forward to working with this new class of lawmakers on passing a pro-growth agenda to keep Oklahoma at the leading edge of creating high-paying jobs. It is critically important that business owners – our state’s job creators – stay engaged in the legislative process and stand together to voice their concerns to our elected representatives.
