Spanish 2 Course Description: Welcome to Spanish 2 in the JCHS World Language Department. You must successfully have completed Spanish 1 with a C or above before progressing to other Spanish courses. Spanish 2 is a year-long course which focuses on communicative skills (speaking, reading, writing and listening) in Spanish to broaden your appreciation for different cultures and traditions, as well as your own. This class encourages students to interact with one another, with their instructor and with native speakers on a regular basis. The inductive/discovery approach to language exploration will challenge you to arrive at an understanding of the and Hispanic cultures by tapping into the knowledge you already have and applying it to what you are learning to make connections. You are expected to use your own resources and skills to be an active participant in the learning process.

All language skills (speaking, reading, writing and listening) are essential to developing proficiency in Spanish.
