C.L.G. Laoise Comhdháil Bhliantúil MOTIONS 7 Tuairisc an Runaí 2010 As An Runaí of Coisde Chontae Laoise, I am pleased to welcome you all here tonight to express and reflect your thoughts on yet another year past in Laois GAA. Unfortunately success at Inter-county level eluded us in all grades, in what proved a very disappointing year. Within the County however, the Association continues to thrive with huge activity in nearly all sectors.

Briefly my reflections on GAA activities in Laois for the past year –

Hopes were again high the following week as we head- ed to Tullamore for the replay, but Meath seemed to learn a little more from the pre- vious day and while two of their goals may have been fortuitous and questionable, they were more clinical on the day and deserving winners. The Qualifier route paired us with Tipperary in Thurles a week later, where a dis- appointing and lack lustre display ended our Championship aspirations for 2010. Once an advocate fan of the Qualifier series, which has served the Association well, I would like to see it revamped or reviewed in some way. In its present format it is too condensed in to a short period of time (this I know and agree is to facilitate Club Fixtures) and at the mo- ment does not allow players recover from the Leinster SFC 2010 replay Laois v Meath fatigue and disappointment of defeat in their Provincial Championships.
