Widows CERT 15 (128 mins) Starring Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, Cynthia Erivo, Colin Farrell, Brian Tyree Henry, Daniel Kaluuya, Jacki Weaver, Carrie Coon, Robert Duvall, Liam Neeson Directed by Steve McQueen (UK/USA) With just three films to his name, Steve McQueen has established himself as one of the leading lights of British cinema - and the recipient of a host of international honours. Here, the London-born former video artist has adapted Lynda La Plante's London-set TV series (1983-1985) to the big screen and has attracted an extraordinary cast. Following in the wake of the recent Racer And The Jailbird, Ocean's Eight, American Animals and King Of Thieves, Widows is a heist thriller, but with a difference. A botched robbery in Chicago leads to the death of its four perpetrators - and a huge hole in the lives of the men’s widows. And a terrible debt - something the women decide to settle in their own unique way. The reviews have been ecstatic. Released Tues 6 Nov EDITOR’S CHOICE
