Road Access and Public Transportation Plans for the Formula 1 2019 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix

The Formula 1 2019 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix will take place between 20 and 22 September 2019 around the and Padang area. Race organisers have made arrangements to ensure minimal traffic disruptions and facilitate accessibility, while allowing the wider public to go about with their activities in the Marina Centre and Padang area.

Road Closures Over Seven Days

2 Similar to previous years, road closures for the Singapore Grand Prix will take place over seven days. Affected roads will close from 12.01am, 18 September for the set- up of race infrastructure, and all roads will be fully accessible by 5.30am, 24 September. To enable earlier traffic access to the affected roads, race organisers will progressively re-open affected roads after the race.

Roads Open During Traffic Peak Hours

3 To facilitate traffic during morning and evening peak hours, the following road corridors will be opened at selected hours during the road closure period:

For Commuters: Public Transport Arrangements

4 MRT train service hours will be extended on race days (i.e. 20 to 22 September). Train services will be available at City Hall MRT station till 12.30am on 20 and 21 September 2019, and till 12.45am on 22 September 2019. The operating hours for selected feeder bus services will also be extended to match the last train services. Free shuttle buses will be available between Lavender MRT Station and Gate 1 of the circuit park from 20 to 22 September 2019. The shuttle bus service will operate from 2.30pm to 12.30am on 20 and 21 September, and from 3.30pm to 12.45am on 22 September.

5 Members of the public and F1 ticket holders are encouraged to use public transport during race days to get to the race venue. Most gates are within walking distance to an MRT station. Taxis are also available as an additional option, with the exception of the race hours. Please refer to Annex A for transport options and the nearest MRT stations to the respective F1 gates.

For Motorists: Access into Marina Centre

6 Those who wish to drive can access the Marina Centre area via a single lane along Raffles Boulevard via Nicoll Highway or Temasek Boulevard (except for buses and vehicles with W,X,Y plates) from 12.00am to 1.00pm on 21 and 22 September. Embargoed until 23 August 2019, 10.00am 3

7 Taxis will also be able to use the single-lane access at all times, except during the hours when the race is ongoing on 21 and 22 September (Saturday and Sunday).

8 To ensure smoother traffic flow, traffic wardens will be deployed on site to direct traffic and assist the public. Directional signs will also be put up in the vicinity to direct motorists. Car parks at Suntec City, Millenia Walk, and Marina Square will remain open to public. Please refer to Annex B for details of roads that will be affected by the road closures and how motorists can access Marina Bay.

Transport Options for Visitors to Marina Centre
