MARIN COUNTY FAIR ANNOUNCES 2013 HEADLINE ENTERTAINMENT 2013 Marin County Fair, July 3-7 celebrates Marin County schools

SAN RAFAEL, CA (January 15, 2013) – The Marin County Fair has announced the headliner concerts for the 2013 Fair, themed Schools Rule. The Fair takes place July 3rd through 7th and will celebrate the creativity and imagination of Marin’s talented teachers and students and will focus on Marin’s outstanding schools.

The Marin County Fair, renowned for its headliner concerts that take place every night of the Fair and are included with Fair gate admission, cover a wide variety of musical genres from rock to reggae, folk to mariachi, soul to country. 2013 headliner concert schedule includes:

“WEIRD AL” YANKOVIC – Wednesday, July 3, 7:30 pm. The best-selling comedy recording artist of all time (and accordionist) “Weird Al” Yankovic and his Apocalypse Tour open the Marin County Fair.

THE KINGSTON TRIO – Thursday, July 4 at 3 pm. Celebrating America’s rich folk heritage, with instantly recognizable hits: Tom Dooley, MTA, Scotch and Soda, Tijuana Jail, among others.

EDDIE MONEY – Thursday, July 4 at 7:30 pm. Legendary blue-collar rock-n- roller Eddie Money brings down the house with his string of Top 40 hits from the 1970s and 1980s – from “Two Tickets to Paradise” to “Take Me Home Tonight”.

ZENDAYA – Friday, July 5 at 3 pm. Oakland native and co-star Raquel “Rocky” Blue of Disney Channel’s sitcom Shake It Up will perform her dance hits, headlined by Swag It Out.

OZOMATLI – Friday, July 5 at 7:30 pm. Ozomatli celebrates a multitude of cultures with their dance music – a notorious urban-Latino-and-beyond collision.

NITTY GRITTY DIRT BAND – Saturday, July 6 at 3 pm. With chart-topping hits including Mr. Bojangles and multiple Grammy awards, this “hippie jug” band’s accolades continue and capture legions of new country-rock fans.

THE WAILERS – Saturday, July 6 at 7:30 pm. The greatest living exponents of Jamaica’s reggae tradition – reggae masters The Wailers will play their world songs, from One Love to Get Up Stand Up.

MARIACHI SOL DE MEXICO DE JOSE HERNANDEZ – Sunday, July 7 at 3 pm. Traditional Mexican music with a 14-piece ensemble by blazing mariachi performers.

THE POINTER SISTERS – Sunday, July 7 at 7:30 pm. Grammy-award winning trio known for all-time hits like Jump (for my love), and I’m So Excited.
