The line is superimposed in red on a street-map background and shows the generating station and depôt at the western end with an inset plan of the subways at Bank on the top right. The reverse has travel and ticket information etc. A little age-darkening but a very reasonable copy. Each measures 38" x 14.5 " (97cm x 37cm) at maximum dimensions and each pair, when coupled with a standard c48" (121cm) bar, would make a complete bullseye sign. A flanged, single-sided sign measuring 18" (46cm) square and, apart from minor chips on the flange, in excellent condition. [1] 344 The "District Railway Map of London', 7th edition, dated 1907. The last edition of a series 180which began in 1873. A large-scale, fold-out map, paper on canvas inside hard covers. Some wear to covers, the map is in good condition. [1] 345 Royal Blue enamel COACH STOP FLAG. A 1950s/60s double-sided sign in cream and black enamel.80 A 'National Express' sticker (removable) covers the Royal Blue name on one side. [1] 347 A City of London STREET SIGN from Great St Helen's, EC3, a small thoroughfare off Bishopsgate420 in London's financial district ('the City'). An opal glass sign in its original aluminium frame, measuring 18" (46cm) square, we estimate it to date from the 1950s. In very good, ex-use condition. [1] 348 London Transport 1938 Tube Stock enamel STOCK-NUMBER PLATE from Driving Motor Car170 10311. Measuring 5.5" (14cm) across, these 'bullseye' plates were affixed above the communicating door at each end of the car. In very good, ex-use condition. [1] 349 London Tram ROUTE NUMBER STENCIL PLATE for route 52 which ran in rush hours only from42 Southwark Bridge to Grove Park and was replaced by bus 149 in 1952. This is the less common, wide type of plate with small holes in the digits, known as a 'Venner', which was fitted behind the glass in the end upper-deck windows of certain E/1 and HR/2 cars. In ex-use condition. [1] 350 London Transport RTL-type bus BRASS CHASSIS TAG (dumb-iron plate) from RTL 23 plus an 54enamel RTL-type RADIATOR BADGE. The original RTL 23 entered service at West Green garage in December 1948 and the final bus with this identity was withdrawn at Chalk Farm in February 1958. After further service with Primrose Coaches of Scunthorpe, the bus was scrapped in 1966. Both plates in ex-use condition. [2] 351 Early 1930s ENAMEL SIGN 'Black & White Motorways Ltd - Booking Office' with the company's450 famous winged logo at the top. A double-sided sign, size 24" x 21" (61cm x 53cm), manufactured by Stocal, Burton and complete with original elaborate, wrought-iron mounting bracket. The coach depicted, perhaps a Gilford or a Leyland, suggests a vintage of c1930-34. The sign is in excellent condition, the bracket has surface corrosion. [1] 352 1924 British Empire Exhibition at Wembley items comprising the official fold-out PLAN & MAP55 designed by Kennedy North in a style similar to MacDonald Gill with an Underground map with calligraphed station names and elaborate, colourful illustrations plus the Underground Group fold-out LEAFLET 'The Way to the Exhibition' including a plan with rail and bus stations shown. Both in lightly-used but good condition. [2] 353 Quantity (36) of 1935-6 London Transport Green Line Coaches TIMETABLE LEAFLETS. This 100set is for routes A-K and leaflets appear to be all different with all routes covered. Most are in good to very good condition. This is the first map to use the then new UndergrounD logo as a heading. It shows the Franco-British Exhibition at Wood Line and connections with LUT trams at Shepherds Bush and MET trams at Finsbury Park and Highgate. 14" x 11" (36cm x 28cm) opened. Lightly used with small fold-partings but generally good. [1] 356 London Transport bus BODYBUILDER'S PLATE for Leyland Motors Ltd from one of the 500 150RTW-type Leyland 6RTs with bodies built by this firm in 1949-50. A rarely-seen plate in very good, lightly-used ex-vehicle condition. [1] 357 1943 London Transport OFFICIALS' TIMETABLE BOOKLETS for Country Buses. This is the complete250 set of three issues from December 1943 comprising North East, North-West and Western Areas. In very good condition. [3] 358 A pair of 1890s London Underground WALL MAPS, both 26" x 21" (66cm x 53cm), the first100 titled DISTRICT RAILWAY & CONNECTIONS (District Railway, Manager's Office, 1893) and the second "Metropolitan Railway & Connections (undated but very similar style). Both were printed by Waterlow & Sons and are very detailed with lines shown in colours, junctions, main-line connections and distances in chains. The first has small edge-losses and tape repairs on the reverse, the second is in good condition. [2] 359 London Transport coach stop enamel E-PLATE for routes 714 destinated Dorking and 717 800destinated Victoria. The 717 only ran to Victoria from 1955 to 1964 and these two routes only met on the short stretch between Barnet and North Finchley. A most interesting combination and an exceedingly scarce plate. In very good, ex-stop condition. [1] 360 Double-sided enamel FLAG 'N.C.P.T.D. Tram Request Stop', believed to be from70 Newcastle. [1] 373 London Transport bus stop enamel E-PLATE 851/852 'Northdowns', a slightly incorrect form140 of the name of the independent operator North Downs Rural Transport which operated these two routes in the Horsham area in the 1960s/70s. Apart from very minor weathering to the digits, this most unusual plate is in good, ex-stop condition. [1] 374 A City of London enamel STREET SIGN for Post Office Court, EC2, a small thoroughfare off 190King William Street in the heart of London's financial district - the 'Square Mile'. [40] 376 Melbourne Metropolitan Tramways Board A14 GIBSON TICKET MACHINE, serial no 120. Melbourne650 (Australia) was one of the few places outside London to use Gibsons and they purchased 2nd-hand machines from LT as well as their own. This appears to be one of the latter as there is no trace of LT on the casing. In working order (tickets a bit faint) and comes with original webbing harness. [1 + harness] 377 Enamel bus timetable noticeboard HEADER PLATE 'London Transport' manufactured in 1930s100 style with lettering under/overlined with diamond cut-outs. Length 40" (102cm). In excellent condition other than one small chip at top edge. [1] 378 London Transport TROLLEYBUS REGISTRATION PLATE (rear) CUL 306 from 1936 C3 class vehicle170 306. The trolleybus was scrapped at Colindale in August 1959. In ex-scrapyard condition but still very reasonable. The face features the UndergrounD logo on blue background, the 1908/09 Underground map and the year calendar. The reverse has times of first and last trains on all the lines. A scarce survivor not seen at auction before. Lightly used with one fold starting to part. [1] 398 London Transport bus stop enamel G-PLATE 'Also Buses starting from here to Sidcup'. A G6-size280 plate (equivalent to 6 e-plates), original location unknown but could have been outside Sidcup bus garage in respect of buses entering service from there. Aside from a couple of light surface scratches, in very good, ex-stop condition. [1] 399 Croydon Corporation Tramways MAP AND GUIDE TO CAR SERVICES. Undated, style suggests350 c1915-1920. Printed on pink paper with a cover picture of Shirley, near Croydon. A little fragile at the folds with some partings but generally still a good example of a very scarce issue. [1] 400 London Tram & Trolleybus Conductor's METROPOLITAN STAGE CARRIAGE BADGE T7781. Equivalent480 to PSV licence badges, these were issued from 1935-1962 for electric traction in the capital.
