Closing Dates for Applications: Barton Peveril College Application Deadline: Sunday, 21st February 2021 Peter Symonds College Application Deadline: Monday, 14th December 2021 4pm

All dates are correct at the time of publishing (Sept 2020). Colleges reserve the right to revise dates and times, so please check the website before you visit. City College Application Deadline: End of March 2021 Other establishments have not given an application deadline. However, the deadline set for Oasis Academy students to get their application forms in to the colleges/6th forms is Christmas 2020.

Try to visit as many colleges on their open events as you can, either in person or virtually. It is best to visit too many, than miss ones that you later wish you had visited. Also, it is possible to apply for as many colleges as you like. You will need to have an interview for all the colleges you apply for, this may be in person or by phone/online. You can decide which college you would definitely like to go to later in Year 11, even after you get your GCSE results.

Careers Support in Year 11

The Careers Team is made up of the following people: Mrs Jesson (Careers Adviser) and Mrs Elliott (Personalised Learning and Enterprise Manager). We are based in the Careers Office, which is located upstairs in the main block between M12 and M13.

During Year 11 you will have access to the following support:

• Individual Careers Guidance Interviews with Mrs Jesson, Careers Adviser • Online talks by representatives from the local 6th forms, colleges and apprenticeship providers. • Shorter, pre-booked careers appointments at break or lunch on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. • Supply of college and 6th form prospectuses for students to collect and take home (Please speak to your Tutor if you would like to request a Careers Guidance Interview or shorter careers appointment). Please note that there are new qualifications called T Levels (equivalent to A-Levels) that are only available locally at Peter Symonds College and Fareham College for the 2021-22 academic year.
