PB Yarraman State School Term 2 is flying along in 3/4/5! We have been working so hard. We have been learning about how we are persuaded by advertisements and have been creating our own persuasive texts in English. We have had a lot of fun presenting these in our class and trying to persuade our friends. Over the last few weeks we have been working towards our reading goals and have seen amazing growth in our reading skills. In Maths, we have been learning all about different forms of measurement and have had the opportunity to compare measurements of items in our class (of which the most fun was measuring each other). We have used different types of measuring devices and have learned about how we measure length, mass and capacity. In Science, we are experimenting with solids, liquids & gasses. We made diagrams of different types of solids, liquids and gasses and tested different ways to mix or create these. We also found out about and tried viscosity testing. The facts are so generally known, and of such a nature that they can be so easily verified by any sincere investigator, that they stand as God’s witness to His willingness and purpose to reveal Himself again to men as He once did in the days of the prophets and apostles

PB New footpaths and repainted crossing for Yarraman...

FUND RAISING FOR RFDS The Name Plates and Stickers have been designed by Lawrie Bowman as a fund raiser for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. They were manufactured by Dixie Souvenirs of Eudlo, on the Sunshine Coast. The idea is aimed mainly at the Tourism Industry, as a keepsake of places people have travelled to. We are also promoting Yarraman as the Aboriginal word meaning of ‘Wild Horse’ Country. • The Plates and Stickers are available from the Yarraman Caravan Park. • The Stickers are available from the Yarraman Post Office. • The Plates are also available from the Farmhouse Coffee Lounge. The costs are: A. Plates $25.00 each, (they are the size of a Vehicle Registration Plate). B. Sticker $5.00 each, (they are 150mmx55mm). The full manufacturing costs of the Plate and Stickers have been borne by Lawrie and Carmel Bowman, with all monies raised from their sales being donated the RFDS. For those that don’t know Lawrie and Carmel. Carmel was the Yarraman Tip Caretaker from 2006 to 2008. Lawrie and Carmel acquired the Bus Shelter in Barr Smith Street for the Yarraman Lions Club with the contacts with Redcliffe City Council. Having been previous residents of Redcliffe before re-locating to Yarraman.
