If Council is okay with granting this letter of support, please let me know ASAP. I will add this to next week's agenda so that it can ratified by a Council motion. Thank you.

Good Monday everyone. Once again we apologize for the short time lines but in this historic year for grant applications, another one has become available that may assist us in working together to help individuals in our community strengthen their family situations.

The Rural Development Network is looking for rural areas to work on projects to keep people from becoming homeless. FIRST and FFCS, Alberta Health Services, Canadian Mental Health and a local elected official were notified of this grant proposal and its sh01i time lines.

FFCS and FIRST along with their partners have developed a community approach to assist people, the plan encompassing community outreach, the use of the Care a van to get people to appointments (mental health, addictions, etc.), strengthening partnerships to help those who are falling through the cracks and a host of other issues.

We look forward to receiving letters of support that we can include with this grant application that needs to be sent in by end of day next Monday.

We, as always, appreciate any and all community support in our initiatives to bring grant money into our community to help all of us.

Thank You, Lynne Jenkinson and

Dear Alberta Rural Development Network;

We are writing in support of Flagstaffs Initiative to Relationship and Spousal Trauma's grant application for a rural and remote homelessness project. FIRST in partnership with Flagstaff Family and Community Services (FFCS) and the 9 Municipalities it serves as well as workers from Alberta Health Services and Canadian Mental Health is proposing a two-year community project to develop even more partnerships to contribute to a sustainable and comprehensive continuum of supports to help individuals and families at imminent risk of becoming homeless.

This project will.assist our community to identify these individuals and work toward moving them to self-sufficiency.

We are a very large rural area in East and recognize that building strong partnerships is one of the best ways to assist individuals who are scattered amongst our 9 Municipalities. ·

The coordination of this project will be undertaken by FIRST in close partnership with FFCS and work to maintain and strengthen new and existing partnerships.

We look forward to working with FIRST on this project.

Sincerely, r) 1!. ;If' j·, rl ,, a . /J l)" /v }U JLL t{l :..t (/,:9 .A C\ ~[fiiA)\l fl Debra A. Moffatt, CAO Village of Forestburg
