ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT – SCOPING PHASE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS COMMERCIALISATION OF THE STADIUM PRECINCT, GREEN POINT DEA&DP REFERENCE No.: /6/5 DEVELOPMENT OF THE GRANGER BAY BOULEVARD SITE ,GREEN POINT DEA&DP REFERENCE No.:16/3/1/1/A7/10/3088/13 Project proposal: The proponent, , is proposing to amend the existing environmental authorisation (dated January 2007) to allow commercial rights within the Stadium Precinct to improve its financial viability. As a separate application, the City of Cape Town, also wishes to develop a portion of Remainder Erf 1056, Green Point next to Granger Bay Boulevard for general business purposes.

Location: The Stadium Precinct is ±17.22ha in extent and is located on Erf 1056, Green Point. The Granger Bay Boulevard Site is also located on the above-mentioned Erf and is ±0.726ha in size.

Listed activities: The proposal does not trigger any listed activities but an amendment is being sought in terms of Regulation 38(3) of the National Environmental Management Act (107 of 1998), as amended, Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (GN. No. R.543 of 2010). The proposed development on the Granger Bay Boulevard Site triggers Activity 24 of GN. No. R. 544 of 2010.

Opportunity to participate: A Draft Scoping Report in support of the application for amendment to environmental authorisation for the has been compiled and is available for comment. A Background and Scoping Information Document on the proposed development of the Granger Bay Boulevard Site is also available for comment. Members of the public are invited to public meetings where the scoping reports will be presented for comment. Public meetings will be held from 18:30 to 20:00 at the following venues at the date specified below:
