Dear Graduates of 2020,
On behalf of the Housing Authority of New Orleans Board of Commissioners, Resident Advisory Board and staff, I want to extend a very sincere congratulations to the entire graduating class of 2020. Although you were not able to walk across the stage to receive your standing ovations, I know that your families and friends are extremely proud of you for achieving this remarkable accomplishment.
We recognize the hard work and discipline it has taken to reach this educational milestone during this unprecedented moment in time. And, as we live through the COVID-19 pandemic, your resiliency demonstrates unmistakable ability and dedication to accomplishing this achievement. As you transition academically, whether you are a high school or college graduate, we are proud of your commitment to grow as future leaders and thriving citizens.
As you move forward into the next phase of your lives, I encourage you to create new goals and seek new opportunities. I also encourage you to never give up on your dreams or on the belief that you can change the world. Never stop learning or seeking knowledge through higher learning. Prepare for a profession that you have passion for, and choose a career of your choice. Share what you learned in your life and academic journeys with others. Finally, I want you to strive to be the very best person that you can be — a “do-gooder” of the world.
