The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species shows how likely a species is to become extinct, or if it is already. This is called its conservation status. The IUCN looks at mammal, plants, birds, insects, amphibians, reptiles and other species under threat. It investigates different threats and ways in which species could be harmed, become endangered or extinct, with the IUCN RED LIST SPECIES aim of promoting the conservation of these species.
