He will receive his award on Saturday evening, May 4, during the American Hockey Coaches Association annual convention in Naples, FL. Entering Thursday afternoon’s semifinal contest vs. Yale, Bazin’s River Hawks have compiled an overall record of 28-10-2, capturing both the Hockey East regular season and tournament titles along the way. Lowell advanced to the Frozen Four by defeating Wisconsin (6-1) and New Hampshire (2-0) to win the NCAA Northeast Regional in Manchester, NH. The River Hawks enter the Frozen Four in Pittsburgh’s CONSOL Energy Center having won 14 of their last 15 games and seven in a row. On December 1, the UMass Lowell record stood at 4-7-1. Since that time, they have gone 24-3-1. Bazin has been chosen as the Hockey East Coach of the Year in both of his seasons at Lowell. This follows two years as the NESCAC Coach of the Year while he coached at Hamilton College.

    Ausgabe 01 | 08.09.2017 inHouse Das Stadionmagazin DIE MEINUNG DES TRAINERS „Ich bin mit der Vorbereitungsphase zufrieden“, stellte Jari Pasanen fünf Tage vor dem Saisonstart fest, „man sieht, wie sich die Mann- schaft kontinuierlich entwickelt und an Spielfreude gewinnt.“ Pasa- nen weiter: „Die Tendenz war Woche für Woche aufsteigend. Es hat zunächst zwei bis drei Wochen gedauert, aber dies ist normal. Wir dürfen nicht außer Acht lassen, dass wir elf neue Spieler im Kader haben.“ Ein Vergleich zur vergangenen Saison ist sicher zulässig: „Das ist in der Kabine sehr deutlich zu merken. Die Moral im Allge- meinen und die Arbeitsmoral im Besonderen sind gut. Man merkt schon früh in der Saison, dass die Chemie stimmt.“ Zeigen muss sich in der Saison, welchen Bestand diese Attribute besitzen, wenn es mal nicht so richtig rund läuft. „Davor dürfen wir die Augen nicht verschließen.“ Und Jari Pasanen stellt trotz des insgesamt positiven Eindrucks auch fest, „dass es immer noch einen Unterschied zwi- schen einem Vorbereitungsspiel und der Meisterschaft gibt.“ Des- halb ist es auch beruhigend zu sehen, „dass“, so Pasanen, „wir nicht nur konditionell auf einem guten Weg sind, sondern auch spiele- risch von Einheit zu Einheit und von Spiel zu Spiel zulegen konn- ten.“ Die letzten Trainingseinheiten vor dem heutigen Saisonstart wird er mit seinem Team nutzen, um weiter an den Automatismen und dem Feinschli zu arbeiten. An der Zusammensetzung der Sturm- und Verteidigungsreihen wird er nichts ändern. Gleichwohl fehlt ihm bei den Sturmreihen manchmal „noch die Gradlinigkeit“. - „Da fehlt noch etwas. Aber das werden wir auch hinbekommen.“ „Was wir in der Vorbereitung gesehen haben, stimmt mich optimis- tisch.

XXX XXXX Saison 18/19 | 1 2 | Saison 18/19 DIE MEINUNG DES TRAINERS Die letzte Hoffnung auf ein kleines Eishockeywunder, das Erreichen der Play-Offs nach einer verkorksten Saison, machten die Eisbären Berlin am vergangenen Sonntag zunichte, als sie mit 5:2 bei den Roosters gewannen. Na- türlich waren Trainer und Mannschaft enttäuscht und Jamie Bartman fasste nach dem Spiel zusammen: „Das Ergebnis ist ärgerlich. Wir sind frustriert. Nach dem Auf- wand der letzten Wochen waren wir müde.“ Am heutigen Freitagabend ist der EHC Ingolstadt zu Gast, der sich noch berechtigte Hoffnungen auf Platz 6 Macht: Deshalb ist Jamie Bartman davon überzeugt: „Für Ingol- stadt ist es wichtig unter die ersten 6 zu kommen. Mit ei- nem Sieg kämen sie diesem Ziel ein großes Stück näher und dementsprechend werden sie spielen. Das Team ist gut drauf und kommt mit Feuer zu uns.“ Aber die Roosters wollen natürlich im letzten Heimspiel der Saison ihren Fans ein gutes Spiel liefern und sich positiv in die Pause verabschieden. Jamie Bartman: „Es soll ein guter Eindruck von den Mannschaft zum Schluss bleiben und wir werden alles geben.
