This competition is open to all eligible, restricted, reinstated or readmitted persons as defined by the Eligibility Rules, and is a currently registered member of a U.S. Figure Skating member club, a collegiate club or an individual member in accordance with the current rulebook. Please refer to the current rulebook for non-U.S. Citizens. ELIGIBILITY/TEST LEVEL: Test level: Competition level is the highest test passed as of the entry deadline in the discipline the skater is entering. Entrants may skate one level above that for which they qualify, but they may not skate down in any event. Skaters who placed in the top four in a final round of their last qualifying competition in their divisions must move up one level, except for novice and higher. Age restrictions/requirements: Skaters entering juvenile free skate events (Well Balanced Program) must be under 14 years of age at the close of entries. Skaters entering open juvenile free skate events (Well Balanced Program), must be at least 14 years of age at the close of entries. Skaters entering beginner–pre-juvenile events will be divided as closely as possible by age should the number of entries warrant more than one group. ENTRIES: Applications must be completed ONLINE using the registration link at www.sccny.org, no later than midnight February 24,2016. A late fee of $40.00 will be charged after midnight February 24,2016 and will only be accepted if time and space is available. Team or group events must be registered as its own entry, separate from individual events. The competition chairperson reserves the right to cancel an event if there are less than 3 entrants(with full refund of entry fee) and to combine and divide groups. If the group size is more than 18, the groups may be divided by random draw for juvenile. For intermediate and novice levels, the groups may be divided either randomly or by seeding. Skaters may skate up one level in any event, but may not skate below their test level. Competitors may enter only one Freestyle event. For all other events, competitors may enter as many events as they desire, provided they meet the entry requirements. Please check our web site for registration information to verify your entry. No changes will be made to the competition event entries after the schedule is posted unless there is an error on the part of the club. 2 FEES: All fees must be in U.S. funds and must accompany applications and paid online at www.sccny.org. Late entries are subject to a $40.00 late fee - NO EXCEPTIONS. There will be a $30.00 service charge on all returned checks. The following chart is supplied for your convenience. If there is any question on the appropriate level of a Canadian skater, the question will be decided by the Referee and the Competition Committee. There will be no refunds for medical withdrawals. The online processing fees are not refundable. Checks returned for non-sufficient funds and contested credit card charges will be issued a $30 fee. Payment of the fee will be required before the skater is allowed to participate in practice ice or events. Notification of competition and practice ice times will be available by web. FACILITIES: The competition will be held at the Cicero Twin Rinks located in Cicero, New York. The ice surface at the Cicero Twin Rinks measures 100’ x 200’ (Olympic size). A snack bar and dressing rooms are available. No outside food allowed in facility per management. MUSIC: Each competitor must supply their music on CD’s for the freeskate, short programs and showcase. CD’s must be clearly labeled with the skater’s name, home club, event and running time. No tapes will be accepted. CD’s must have only one track per Cd and in a format that is readable by a music CD player. No music on CD-RW disks will be accepted. The official competition music must be turned in at the registration table at least one hour prior to the event. We recommend that a duplicate CD should be readily available. Music may be picked up at the registration table following each event. The Skating Club of CNY assumes no responsibility or liability due to loss of or damage to CD’s. Please have separate CD’s for practice and competition. LIABILITY: U.S. Figure Skating, The Skating Club of CNY and its officers, as well as The Cicero Twin Rinks and its representatives accept no responsibility for injury or damage sustained by any skaters, officials or spectators during the competition. This is in accordance with Rule 1600 of the official U.S. Figure Skating Rulebook. JUDGING SYSTEM: Double Panel of Judges; some events will utilize one-half surface. See notes for each event to determine which ones will use half-ice surface. This competition will be judged on the 6.0 closed marking system. REGISTRATION: Registration will begin on January 1, 2016 and end on February 24, 2016 at midnight. A registration desk will be open throughout the competition, located in the main lobby of the Cicero Twin Rinks Facility. Competitors should arrive approximately one hour prior to their designated skate time and check in promptly upon arrival. Upon arrival, competitors must register and hand in music CD’s at the registration desk on each day that they will compete. Skaters are responsible for being present at each event entered. PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY: There will be a photographer taking pictures of each skater during the competition. These will be available for purchase. The Skating Club of CNY reserves the right to photograph or videotape portions of the competition to use for promotional purposes. AWARDS: Medals will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers. Ribbons will be awarded for 4th, 5th and 6th place finishers. Synchronized skating teams placing 1st, will receive a team trophy. Individuals on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place synchronized teams will receive medals and 4th and 5th place finishers will receive ribbons. RESULTS: Results will be available after each event for $.25 per copy OFFICIAL NOTICES: An official dry erase board will be maintained inside ice arena entry. It is the responsibility of each competitor, parent and coach to check the bulletin board frequently for any schedule changes and/or additional information. Skaters are requested to arrive 60 4 minutes prior to the scheduled time of their event. A tentative schedule of events will be posted prior to the competition. INFORMATION REGARDING COACHES: U.S. Figure Skating Rule MR 5.11 Coach Registration In order to be granted access to work within U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned activities, each coach must complete the following requirements on an annual basis by July 1: A. Must be a current full member of U.S. Figure Skating - either through a member club or as an individual member; B. Must complete the coach registration process through the U.S. Figure Skating Members Only site, submit proper payment for the annual registration fee of $30 and, if 18 years of age or older, successfully pass the background screen. C. Must complete the appropriate CER courses (A, B, C or D) depending on the highest level of students being coached as of July 1. See rule MR 5.12. D. Must submit proof of current general liability insurance with limits of $1 million per occurrence/ $5 million aggregate. For Basic Skills ONLY coaches - Any person, 18 and older, instructing in a U.S.
