However, we believe that this is slowly starting to change. With increased attention on head and neck cancer, the Research and Education Foundation believes this is an opportunity to strengthen and expand our impact. With your commitment to the Foundation, we can reverse the trend of declining funding for head and neck cancer research! Presently the Research and Education Foundation supports two research awards each year. We are proud to fund these grants but there are more to cover. We would like to create more opportunities for young clinicians and researchers to explore unique and innovative treatments which may one day lead to a cure. To do as much, the Foundation needs to increase its asset base. There are three targeted ways for you to support the Foundation which are designed to provide immediate revenue as well as to increase the capital base for the long term with the goal of generating increased annual income perpetually to support more research. The support opportunities include: 1. Legacy gifts, such as estate planning, single premium life insurance and charitable lead annuity trusts (CLATs), are meaningful ways to create continuous and sustainable growth for the Foundation in the years and decades to come.
