I don’t consider this to be quite as interesting as the 5th one, but it’s very exciting. With these plagues, the authors often take advantage of the fact that the believers are safe, and only the enemies are in danger. I won’t give away the details, but I also really like the unique way that one of the stubborn characters finally becomes a believer.Like in the main series, the authors somehow make the mistake of how many people are left. In this book they reach the halfway point of the tribulation, and say that the world’s population is half what it was at the start. But it will actually be a lot less than that by this point. The Bible says that a quarter of the world’s population will be killed from the great war early in the tribulation, and a third during the 6th trumpet judgment. Do the math and these 2 plagues alone will have killed half the world’s population. If these were the only two plagues, the authors would be right, but there are many other plagues in between. The Bible doesn’t say how many people will be killed in any of these, but it will obviously be a lot (except for the 5th trumpet judgment in which none will be killed). I honestly cannot understand how the authors could get this wrong. But I guess it’s not that big of a deal. Im am reading this series for the second time and I love them! The first time through though I compared the bible verses to what said in the book to make sure the authors weren't just making stuff up. These books are very incitefull as to what is coming when Jesus raptures his church. Very scary stuff. This series is a must read for everyone Christian and nonchristian alike. This series is a GREAT one for adults as well as kids! Read the first book and you are hooked all the way to the end. I would really recommend everyone to read this series. As it is written from the kids perspective it really has a different perspective on the Left Behind Series. I have just begun reading it again for the second time. The tension mounts. The prophesies are becoming filled in fantastic ways. We don't rear know how these Biblical prophesies will be fulfilled, but it is so fascinating to read these books and get Aran idea how it could. This is an extraordinary book written by Jerry B Jenkins and Tim Lahaye... I read all books from the series Left Behind, and to read now what happened with the young people left behind (now the Young Tribulation Force) keeps me interested and is amazing how this wonderful story that matches perfectly with the adults left behind... I'm amazed with the book! I purchased the whole Left Behind series for kids for my niece. We are sharing the books and eventually she will be reading the Left Behind series written for adults. These stories bring spiritual nourishment to our lives and open the way for a lot of discussions from the heart. I love the Biblical accuracy blended with an exciting, easy read end times story. The characters are experencing life as christians in a society that wants to eliminate them. I love this series! The message behind this series is amazingly powerful. The characters are people I can relate to. I can't wait to read the next book. Gutjahr Much ink has been spilled on the topic of the uneasy relationship between American Christians and the novel. The vast majority of this scholarship has centered on American Protestantism’s antagonism toward the novel in the early nineteenth century. With few exceptions, the dominant narrative of this relationship goes something like this: American Protestants viewed Wction writing in general, and the novel in particular, as a serious threat to the virtue and well-being of every American up until the 1850s, when their opposition began to gradually erode until it was washed away com- pletely by the astounding popularity of Lew Wallace’s Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ, Wrst published in 1880.1 As with so many grand narratives, this one is Xawed. American Protes- tantism has never been a monolithic entity. It has varied according to region- alism, denominationalism, and its connections to other American cultural practices such as science, education, and politics. Einstein This thesis explores the religious and political motifs of the popular Left Behind series. The thesis argues that the texts create a specific religious identity to which the reader can relate through political actions. Chapter One discusses both the political and religious views of the main characters based upon premillennial dispensationalism and a literal interpretation of the Bible. Chapter Two focuses on the history of premillennial dispensationalism in the context of popular seminaries and mass media and how this apocalyptic belief has developed into a conservative political discourse. Chapter Three contextualizes the fictional series with other famous American political fictions like Uncle Tom’s Cabin and George Lippard’s The Quaker City. The final conclusion recognizes the series as a byproduct of capitalism where a specific commodity, in this case, a fictional series, produces religious beliefs supporting conservative politics.
